We just came back from Paris after a 5-night stay at Hotel Raphael. I took many pictures of the hotel upon arrival and before leaving, because it is STUNNING! The junior suite we stayed in is decorated with Rococo designs, like the demask silk wall panels, murals, crystal chandeliers with gilded branches etc which gave a feel of Versailles. As tourists from outside Europe, we cannot think of a better place than Hotel Raphael to extend the experience of the rich history and culture of Paris beyond the sightseeings. The location is superb, 5-minute walk to Arc de Triomphe and the start of Champs Elysee, walking distance to Trocadero. Met 6 station is right at the door. We were previously concerned about the amenities after reading some reviews but it turned out to be unnecessary. The bathroom is bright, clean and functional. The furnitures might be antiques, so they are old but clean, beautiful and well maintained. The staff are so friendly and considerate, which made our stay pleasant and convenient. Will definitely come back next time!

For our long touristy weekend in Paris, Hotel Raphael was in a perfect, centralized location. The hotel and the room we stayed in was very charming, but the experience overall was lacking. Nonetheless, we're happy we gave it a try but will probably stay at other hotels in the future. ARRIVAL. It's right down the street from the Arc de Triomphe, which is fantastic. The bellhop service was great and very much needed to carry our heavy luggage up a few short flights of stairs to the main hallway. At the top of the stairs is a long wall-to-wall counter. One would assume this is the front desk, but it's not; it's the concierge desk. You need to walk down the hallway to a small counter to check in. I watched several folks get redirected down the hallway. ROOM. We stayed in a beautiful room. See the attached photos. Even though it was a good-looking room, it was poorly designed, and it hasn't been upgraded well over the years. There was ample (hanging) closet space, but not enough storage for anything else. The shower in the bathroom was ridiculously small. You couldn't even lather up the shampoo without bumping your elbows on the sides of the shower. The amenities are what you'd find in a 3-star hotel. The hair dryer was at least 10 years old. SERVICE. The service was decent, but the people providing the service weren't very friendly. We've had friendlier service at 3-star hotels. RESTAURANTS. We ate breakfast at the hotel each morning. The selection was good, but nothing stood out as unique or quaint from a 5-star hotel. Before we left the final morning, we went up to the rooftop bar. The views were fantastic (see photos), and I wish we had had time to visit when it was open. WHAT I LIKED MOST. The location and the room terrace with a view of the Eiffel Tower. SUGGESTIONS. Stay away from the mini bar. The water alone is 8 euros. They don't tell you this when they're introducing you to your room.

I LOVED this hotel. It was so beautiful, clean and the views were unforgettable. It was also the coziest bed I have ever slept in. The food was delicious and the staff was incredibly kind. I would love to stay here again.

Charming and beautiful boutique hotel. We had a very large room that is not typical for an European hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the concierge. We loved the rooftop bar/ restaurant which offers a beautiful view of Paris.

An overrated hotel, with an unprofessional staff who have the worst manager named Fabrice Afuta who treats the customers with disrespect and racism. Even though my family and I stayed at their suite connected to a premium room so the price was high for nothing as it was noisy and not comfortable at all, but the worst thing was that they tried to rip us off and wouldn’t give us our deposit back until we tried calling the police regarding this matter. so I don’t recommend staying at this hotel at all, It will make you regret visiting Paris.

Dear Sir, We would like to thank you for reviewing your recent stay at the Raphael Hotel. We are very sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations and that you felt you were wrongly charged for breakfast. Your booking was indeed made on Bed and Breakfast Basis this means that a breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant was included in your reservation. Guests also can enjoy breakfast from the comfort of their room; this is the option you opted for. In that case only a continental breakfast is served including a selection of pastries and breads, hot beverage, fresh fruit juice. Any other dish is subject to an additional charge and a 5-euro delivery charge is applicable on all in-room orders. We apologize if there was any confusion. Kindly note this information is written on your booking confirmation as well as the hotel website and mentioned upon check in time. Again, we sorry for not meeting your expectations on this occasion and we do hope that we will have the opportunity to change your last impression in the future. Best regards, Fabrice Afuta General Manager

I have stayed at the Raphael 4 times and I can highly recommend this hotel as absolutely outstanding! Efficient, friendly and helpful staff. The Raphael is a grande dame who will celebrate her centennial in 2025. A true classic in every sense of the word. You will feel like you have been immersed in a Hollywood movie. Believe me, it was hard to leave and I can’t wait for my next visit. During summer months, the gorgeous rooftop bar is not to be missed! Order a cocktail and enjoy the 360-degree view of Paris! Room 302 has a corner view and we considered it superb. Thanks to everyone at the Raphael for making my stay incredibly enjoyable!

Let’s start with so many positives - Concierge & waiting staff excellent , friendly and welcoming . Location is ideal However the room was awful, the shower in our bathroom was the worst I have ever had in all my travels. However what upset me the most is the total lack of care or concern by the front desk staff! Twice I reported that the room was not suitable for the amount that it cost I explained this was a gift for my birthday however the front desk did not care or even be bothered ! Fortunately I was only at this hotel for my birthday weekend and not for any longer. Such a shame as I would return to Paris but not to this hotel as I have never experienced such lack of customer focus or is it only a certain class of people they care about makes you wonder?

Spacious charming rooms, many with incredible views!! We stayed in the Bevarez Terrace suite for one night, then moved to a premium suite. Both had incredible views - Bevarez has terrace of Eiffel Tower and premium suite had large window that opens up to view of Peninsula hotel. Hotel service was great as well. What the hotel lacks in modern tech and the age of the hotel (which shows), it makes up for charm and keeps it certainly more affordable than the Peninsula Hotel next door. Hotel room service was also surprisingly affordable.
