I have been to Paris more than 100 times so far but only on business. So this was the first time we visited as tourists and obviously the choice of hotel was important even though we did not spend a lot of time there.
First the good, it is a wonderful location and a nice looking building. It's an old building that could use a little work. The elevator is tiny -- it felt like a tight squeeze when two people were in it. The service was a little...More
My girlfriend and I had a long planned vacation to Paris and Switzerland. Our original flight out was cancelled due to foreseen circumstances and terrible customer service, so we ended up arriving a day late. The hotel did not charge us for the first night...More

The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of
people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.

We took a car from the airport (there are a lot of cars and drivers hanging around). It was about 55 euro, I think, to the hotel. Probably similar to a cab or uber but it was easier and I like that there is a flat rate for a car. The hotel will also arrange a car for you when you need to go back. Public transportation would be pretty easy but we were so tired when we got there we didn't want to deal with it.
