We have stayed at the Gregoire several times and will continue to return. It is a joy to stay there. Veronique welcomes you and is ever helpful and attentive.Eduardo is another long term agreable member of staff who makes you feel at home. It is so comfortable and attractive. All tthe staff are so welcoming. (and unchanging) We were on the top floor this time. The Gregoire is a quiet hotel. The rooms are spotless with frequent changes of linen and towells. The Continental breakfast is just perfect, beautifully presented and served by Nora who is part of the fixture and fittings. There are many interesting areas nearby and so many shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The Metro Strike was on but it did not hinder us. It was amazing to see so many scooters on the busy roads enabling people to get to work. We cannot wait for a return visit to Paris and the St Gregoire.…
I stayed at Hotel Le Saint Gregoire for 6 days/5 nights. I highly recommend it. The hospitality of the management, the reception staff, and hotel employees is exemplary. They organized a tasting of Beaujolais Nouveau 2019 one evening, which was very pleasant and a great way to meet other guests. My bedroom was comfortable and very clean. It faced the street but with the windows closed, it was really quiet. No noisy and rude tourist groups here. The hotel is small and its sitting areas in the lobby are very cozy. A huge plus is that it is only 2 minutes away from Metro St Placide station and is within short walking distance to so many places you'd surely want to visit. If you like food, there's La Grande Epicerie, Maison Verot, and one after another of chocolate stores, pastry shops and bakeries. Also try the canned sardines and seafood of La Belle Illoise (and bring some home). If you like shopping, there's Au Bon Marché, Degrenne, Conrans, Lacoste, and countless small boutiques with unique products. If you like grandeur, there's the Jardin du Luxembourg and beyond that, the great pastry shop of Gerard Mulot. Within 20-30 minutes of walking is St. Germain des Pres, Notre Dame. Musée du Cluny, Sorbonne. There are enormous possibilities of filling your days with fascinating experiences, just radiating from this hotel as your base. And at the end of the day, and even when I was returning at 1 or 2 am (!), I was always welcomed warmly to a place that felt like home. I will surely keep returning to this hotel.…
We have been staying at Le Saint Gregoire for nearly 30 years, perhaps 8-10 times all told. After trying half a dozen other hotels before, and once staying in a friend's apartment for a month, we came to know and love the neighborhood and the fine staff. Clearly, there are many more luxurious places to stay and some more economical ones in this special city. But there is a fine level of comfort, genuine hospitality, value, great convenience and accessibility here. It is quiet, which is of extreme importance to us, Every employee we have met and interacted with, from the manager, to the night clerks, maids and breakfast wait staff, are kind and cheerful. They are happy to help in an unobtrusive and thoughtful way, and to respect your private space. It attracts a sophisticated but unpretentious range of loyal repeat clients. When we walk in or out the door, morning or evening, we feel at home, and not many hotels generate that feeling. With only 20 rooms and suites, you are never overrun by a tour group. There is a very cozy sitting area in the lobby, and the vaulted ceiling basement breakfast area is a perfect place to enjoy freshly squeezed juice and a satisfying continental repast. There is one Metro Station a half block away, and two others, serving other lines, nearby. We think of Paris often. After our most recent 8 night stay, there is still no question where we will book on our return.…
I stayed here 10 years ago with my 12 year old and daughter in law, and recently returned (alone) to find this hotel the exact same quiet, elegant, clean, comfortable and welcoming place that I remembered. The neighborhood has fantastic shopping and not filled with tourists. It is a 3 min walk to the Metro. I LOVE this place!
A friend and I stayed at the hotel and had a great experience with all of the staff. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable (great pillows). The morning breakfast was delicious. The location was right near the metro and in a great quiet neighborhood as well. Would stay there again!
