If you missed Paris terribly as I did, and want to celebrate your reunion with the City of Lights with a bang, look no further than JK Place Paris. This boutique hotel is very well situated, on the Left Bank between the Assemblée Nationale and the Musée d'Orsay, right off subway line 12 that will take you directly either toward Le Bon Marché or Pigalle. From what I could see it gathers a well-heeled international clientèle. Michele Bönan's decor is extremely tasteful, refined, and luxurious, but never verges into the bling. Given its relatively recent opening, and because it had to stay closed during the pandemic, the hotel remains in a very fresh and pristine state. I very much hope that they will keep it this way. The public areas on the ground floor are spacious and invite lounging amidst orchids and wafts of interior fragrances from L. Villoresi. Below the ground floor is a splendid spa area with a sizable pool; check out the fluted marble on the walls and the shower rooms' mosaics, it's superb craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the rooms are extremely well appointed, again, without being too ostentatious. I chose one in the Deluxe category: it featured a dressing room and bathroom both very spacious—no bathtub, but a shower clad in black stone. Do not worry about getting cold feet on all this marble, the floors are heated as well as the towel holders. The AC system was completely quiet and efficient while the light switch system, for once, was quite intuitive. Last but not least, the bedding was great. Were I to return I would select a room overlooking one of the two courtyards, to guarantee quiet. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves concerning the heavenly decor. The restaurant Casa Tua was another pleasant surprise. Food was uniformly delicious at dinner (notably, an excellent piece of fish served with a purée of artichoke) while breakfast was an endless procession of goodies. The health conscious set will happily find chia pudding, egg white omelet, and fruit salad on the menu. Perhaps one quip was the wine list by the glass, which desperately called for a nice Falanghina by Marisa Cuomo and a Sicilian red from Andrea Occhipinti. Off course all of these refinements mean nothing if the service is not at the appropriate level, and as far as I am concerned the high bar was easily reached. Louis provided a charming welcome at the reception and miraculously found a cab on a Sunday morning when the entire city was closed to traffic, while Caroline works the lounges and the restaurant with much enthusiasm. The tone remains friendly and casual while showing appropriate deference. You can feel an Italian flair throughout the property, but it comes through as completely indigenous to the French capital. Style, after all, knows no borders, and Paris was once ruled by two Medici queens. Well done, JK Place Paris. Now I'm dying to visit your property in Rome, and dream of coming back to your haunts in Paris. As if I needed a new addiction!

This was a unique and truly outstanding experience. It feels less than a hotel but more like a stay with friends. The team takes away all bureaucracy from you to focus the stay fully on your delights. In short: super service, rooms designed with attention to detail, a nice bar, remarkable staff.

In my experience, Boutique Hotels usually stand for small rooms, non-existing service, and overpriced rates. Not so at the J.K. Place. Yes, the nightly rate is quite steep indeed. Compared to other high end establishments in Paris, however, the hotel is offering a reasonable value proposition still. What’s more, the rooms are comparatively large and represent the epitome of understated Parisian luxury. Exquisite fabrics and expensive materials dominate the interior, while an eclectic mix of well preserved furniture from flea markets add a quirky note. Service is exceptionally polite and attentive throughout from doorman to barman to chambermaid. If things are not right, they will go out of their way to make it so. Equally exceptional is the quality of the food. The à la carte breakfast is an exquisite treat while dinner showcases the best of Italian cooking. It doesn’t come as a surprise then that the General Manager is a very present and visible figure. Indeed, Riccardo is very hands on, highly approachable, and in constant pursuit of making every guest feel acknowledged and appreciated. This is how a luxurious Boutique Hotel should be managed, but rarely is. The adage of the home from home might sound a bit tired, but here they come remarkably close to that notion. Well done.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the amazing JK Place in Paris. From the first moment I was greeted with a professional, friendly and helpful attitude. The staff are unbelievably helpful and respectful - they take charge and anticipate your needs. From the concierge staff to the house keepers. Rare and amazing in today's world of hospitality. The restaurant is fantastic and so is the staff beginning with Andrea. The design is superb and you truly feel as though you are visiting someone in their brilliantly appointed home. I have stayed in many lux hotels in Paris (and the world for that matter) but the JK is my new home in Paris. Unparalleled in service, attention to detail on all levels. Kudos to Ricardo - you run a tight ship.
