    Excellent Small Hotel
We stayed at the Montecristo for 4 nights in February. We had a deluxe room which for Paris was a decent size. The separate bathroom was a good size too. The room had a safe whilst a hairdryer was also provided but there was no mini fridge. The rooms was air conditioned. The hotel is stylish and feels very french. All the staff we spoke to were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good, my only criticism was that the hot food (sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs) were always cold or lukewarm. I suspect the hot plate wasn’t working. The croissants and pains au chocolat were lovely. The cheeses and cold meats were also very good. There was orange juice, bottled water and tea/coffee was made to order. A selection of cakes, yoghurts, cereal and fruit finished off the breakfast spread. Overall, it was very nice. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the Censier-Daubenton metro station, so getting to all the tourist sites was very easy. Nearby there are cafes and restaurants. Again, less than 5 minutes away is a busy market street, Rue Mouffetard. This is busy with loads of produce sellers, takeaways, cafes and restaurants. It has a local feel and is well worth visiting and great for dinner in the evening. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the Monte Cristo, with its very helpful and pleasant staff and great location it’s an ideal base for a Paris stay.

    Our Favourite Place
My fiancé and I got engaged in Paris and stayed at Hotel Monte Cristo. We have returned a year later and have not been let down. This hotel is the very best and the staff are supper friendly! We stayed in the suite Edmond which comes with a steam room built into the bathroom. We used this every morning and night as it heats up super quickly! The hotel location makes getting into the city centre super easy by metro, bike or even a 30min leisurely wall. Thanks you again to all the staff at the hotel!
Dear Tayls09, Thank you for your great review ! We are honored to share those important moments with you and maybe to become a part of your anniversary rituals ! We hope to have the huge pleasure to welcome you each year and celebrate your engagement with you ! We are already looking forward to welcome you back at the Hotel Monte Cristo, Best Regards, The reception Team

Nice hotel, but little value-added for guests
Nicely decorated hotel in a quiet street a few steps from the charming and one of the oldest streets in Paris: rue Mouffetard. We had a superior room which was on the small size, but with a very comfortable bathroom. For a four-star, I find this hotel very limited in added value for guests. Service at the front desk was lukewarm, some people who showed up after us were given a room before us. The person who checked us in did not really take time to go over what the hotel has to offer (e.g., the swimming pool). There was nothing offered in the lobby like other hotels in this category (free tea/coffee), and breakfast was below expectations. The hotel overall has some nice details but it was more in the decoration rather than real value that could add to the comfort of guests.

Lovely hotel in the heart of the Latin Quarter in a quiet street. Lovely decor we were on the 5th floor. Lovely touch with madeleines in the room , artisan chocolate and a rum cocktail all of which we loved. Breakfast in the bar area was perfect with very attentive service and great choice. Perfect scrambled eggs and smoked salmon unlike many buffet selections we have experienced with rubbery offerings! The beautiful pool was a bit of a stunning addition and unique in Paris, down in the basement it was simply wonderful. It’s narrow but a good size for a decent swim which you booked. We went twice early in the morning , it was a great start to the day. Staff throughout our stay were lovely and most helpful , wouldn’t hesitate recommending and would definitely stay here again. Well done Hotel Monte Cristo !

Our experience staying was nothing but sheer pleasure. The overall condition of the hotel, it's cleanliness, it's friendly & helpful staff, the breakfasts, were all of the highest order. We would highly recommend staying here, and will do so ourselves the next time we visit Paris. A credit to the management & staff, who deserve extra praise for going out of their way to be friendly & helpful. Merci Beaucoup !

This was a nice and cozy place to stay for 7 nights in Paris. Location was great and close to the metro as well as several really great restaurants and cafes. We felt the staff was super kind and helpful. Rooms are quite small but if you are planning to run around the city all day it doesn’t matter. The bar and restaurant are outstanding. The room accommodations were modern and well kept we would certainly come back again.

I enjoyed the stay in Monte Cristo very much! Amazing decoration that continued seamlessly throughout the hotel. Stylish room with a lot of character. The pool was huge bonus to the stay and the cocktail bar was also an excellent experience. The breakfast one of the best in few years and served well vegetarians. The location is great and overall great value for money!

Really comfortable hotel in the heart of traditional Paris. Only stayed for a night on a business trip but will come back to explore both the area more and enjoy the hotel and its wonderful neighbourhood. Room was very comfortable with lovely quirks and an excellent breakfast. Didn’t get to try the very tempting bar … next time :) . Really efficient booking and check out.

Recently returned from a wonderful visit to paris, stayed at the monte cristo hotel. Arrived around 12pm, no queue so greeted by a lovely pleasant young lady that informed us our room would not quite be ready until 2ish which is never a problem having experienced this many times before, but then to be offered an identical room that was ready for 70 euros extra seemed slightly insulting for a first impression of a hotel priced at 250 euro plus a night. We declined the offer and had a stroll around the local area (latin quarter) stumbling on the pantheon after 15 mins. Returning to the hotel around 3pm we were greeted by the same young lady and informed of all the hotels amenities and breakfast times, the room was just fantastic very chic and parisian exactly what we were after. Breakfast the next morning (7am-10am) was nothing less than marvellous something for everyone from smoked salmon scrambled eggs, cereal, freshly baked pastries yoghurt, fruit salad, assorted hams and cheeses and more. After a full day sightseeing we returned to the hotel to visit the pool and sauna (45 mins free each day or night depending on your room tarrif) a superb addition that not many central paris hotels offer and so relaxing. The next few days we experienced nothing but 1st class hospitality friendly faces with any questions or queries answered and resolved immediately, to finish not on a bad note i personally had an important birthday during our stay which was not picked up by any member of staff, its the small things that guarantee future bookings not chasing a few euros. Thanks to all the staff that made our stay so memorable well done best wishes gary and sarah x ps pls give the rum bar a try during happy hour great cocktails.

I booked a room with this hotel and their cancellation policy and bed side manner are terrible. I was well within the terms of the cancellation policy which was 20th June 2023. It did not specify a time on the 20th. Globally all cancellations are by 23:59. I cancelled the room on 20th June at 18:27 and they charged me the first night. I will never stay at this hotel and I highly recommend you don’t either. Unprofessional and no sympathy as I had to cancel my trip suddenly as a family member is dying.

I give this hotel a 5* rating easily. Since the moment I booked it online, everything went smoothly. Because of my early flight I arrived few hours before the check in and the staff arranged the room anyway which was much appreciated after a long morning of travelling. Women at the reception were professional, attentive and super nice throughout my whole stay. Breakfast was delicious, as a coffee lover I did miss a real coffee (the one from the machine was pretty decent). Unfortunately I didn’t have time to use the pool and sauna but it is a great way to relax after a long day in Paris. Hotel itself looks beautiful, from the bar to the rooms, they put a lot of thoughts into making it look different and special.

Lovely hotel with such a relaxing atmosphere with lovely friendly welcoming staff. My partner and I stayed 3 nights from 24-27 March and had a lovely time. Although my partner is fluent in french the staff spoke really well to me In English when required. Breakfast had a good choice and was very tasty. Basement pool and sauna is stunning and so relaxing. We will definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed at the hotel for two nights with my friends and was delighted with our visit. The staff are so helpful the hotel is clean and stylish in a great location. Only negative was having to wait a short time for our room to be ready, being offered a coffee for the inconvenience then being handed the bill for said coffee, as check in was delayed it would have been good service to offer the drinks as complimentary. A great hotel and already looking to return in Summer.
