    My Home Away from Home
I have been staying at this hotel since 2015 (back when it was a Radisson Bleu) and always feel like I am coming back to my home away from home whenever I visit. I love the location in the 16th near multiple metro stops in a fairly residential area of town near great food shops and a HUGE Casino grocery store. This particular trip was short, so I did not spend a lot of time at the hotel. I arrived around 1pm and was told the room was not yet ready. Fortunately, it was expected to be ready within an hour (and an upgrade to a Deluxe Room!), and I was welcomed into the pool/spa area to rest, refresh, and relax while I waited. What a wonderful way to help overcome jetlag! I always love seeing the Head Concierge, Kahina. It is because of her that I truly feel special and welcomed at this hotel. She goes out of her way to make sure that everything is perfect! Superior and Deluxe rooms are on the small side, but at least with the Deluxe rooms you have a sizeable bathroom. The main reason I love staying at this hotel is the bed - it is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. I love the choice of bedding and the pillows are better than the ones I have at home. Rooms are kept clean and housekeeping is great; my only "complaint" on this trip was they had forgot to refill toilet paper and was running dangerously low; this was quickly remediated. Rooms have a small fridge and Nespresso machines with off brand nespresso pods. Bottles of Evian were also replaced everyday. Breakfast continues to be a wonderful affair. The mini viennosieries are so yummy, and they serve some really high quality yogurt. Delicious butter, jams, and honey help to round out the experience, and there is a now a small buffet that is part of the continental breakfast that includes meats and cheeses; this is a nice addition. It is funny to read some of the negative reviews here because I know that sometimes the hotel is not always perfect and American standards are not always in line with what European hotels deliver, but for me this hotel really is truly special.

    Almost Perfect ....
Our visit didn't get off to a good start. We arrived to find the lobby filled with luggage and people waiting to check in. The front desk clerk (Orlando, I think?) was condescending and rude to us and other guests. We began to worry about our choice in hotels at this point. Fortunately, he was an anomaly at the hotel. The rest of the hotel staff was very congenial and courteous. From Tareek, opening the front door to Jacinto and Suzanne serving us breakfast each morning and drinks in the afternoon, the service was wonderful. The housekeeping staff was continually maintaining the rooms and common areas. We can't say enough about Kahina at the hotel. She was a wealth of information about Paris and even greeted us by name by the second day of our stay. The hotel restaurant (sushi & Asian) was fantastic. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is a short walk away from several major tourist attractions and short Uber/taxi ride to several others. The area restaurants, bars, and shopping were very nice and while the hotel is close to tourist areas, it was surprisingly quiet at night. The neighborhood felt very safe. All of that said, there are a few areas that visitors need to be aware of. For one, the wifi is relatively slow and, most importantly, NOT a secure network. This is unacceptable to a contemporary traveling business person even with a VPN. Our television only worked part of the time and the housekeeping carts were left in the narrow hallways day and night. The hotel is in need of a modernization or makeover to make it more contemporary - given the price of lodging. Perhaps the most problematic for us was that the room climate control NEVER worked. Every night was excessively warm and we were forced to open the window each night to obtain anything close to a comfortable temp. Of course, open windows led to more noise and very cold room temps when the outside temp dropped. In all, this is a good hotel, with a very good staff, in an excellent location. More attention to technology, climate control, and modernization would make it perfect. We highly recommend Le Metropolitan.

    Excellent
This hotel to me is home away from home, every time I plan a visit to Paris, this is my hotel. The location is amazing, the Eiffel Tower Suites and the Deluxe Rooms with balcony and Eiffel Tower view are one of the most epic rooms you can find in Paris. The rooms are always clean The location is walking distance to famous cafes as well as to the Eiffel Tower, also most of other attractions are close enough by taxi. The Staff are super friendly and helpful, always ready to help and assist with everything. I would like to thank Stephane, Osato from Front desk as well as Vanusa from the restaurant-Bar for their wonderful hospitality.

It is really hard finding hotels in Paris that are reasonable and good. Le metropolitan's Eiffel tower view big room was pretty good. However, much of the stuff in the room was pretty aged. From the wood on the floor, to the windows, the bed, and the bathroom. The room felt like it needed renovation. Outside of that, the hotel staff was pretty great and extremely friendly. The rooms don't have irons by default, by they provide them upon request.

My daughter and her boyfriend checked into the hotel at midnight, after a long flight to Paris. The room they assigned her had bedbugs, mold, and blood on sheets. When she went to the front desk to ask for a different room they told her that was the only room available and they couldn't do anything for her wait more than an hour. At 3AM she was able to find a room, with no help from the front desk, at another Marriott property. She used Marriott points (225,000 for the stay) and Marriott refused to refund any of the points. Those were points that I gifted her and I have been Bonvoy Platinum of Gold for more than 25 years. The case number is 464859536. I have talked to supervisors and so far have not had this issue resolved. I have pictures of the disgusting conditions and am totally disappointed in the lack of help from Bonvoy.

We stayed here one night before a day of major make or break business meetings. Upon checkin, we found that our room did not have an iron or hair dryer. They staff promptly brought up an iron and ironing board and promised a hair dryer only to be told an hour later that they didn’t have one for our room. We explained this was essential and expected at a Marriott property in a major city like Paris and urgently asked them to find one. It meant going out to a business dinner the evening we arrived with embarrassingly wet hair in a bun. We came back from dinner to find out they still had not arranged a hair dryer. This was unacceptable given our agenda for the following day which started with a business breakfast at 7am - when we were told the manager would be in and we could talk to him/her then - which clearly wouldn’t work given our timing. Alina, the person staffing the evening front desk shift then took matters into her own hands and called the neighboring sister hotel, walked over after her shift and delivered the hair dryer to our room. Thank goodness for her understanding of how serious this was for us. We could not go into an international critical business meeting looking un-groomed and unprofessional. Thank you to Alina for saving the day and going above and beyond when the hotel fell short of very basic expectations. Alina definitely put the customer first. Thank you, Alina.

I’ve stayed here the last three times I’ve been in Paris and it always meets my expectations. The staff treats you very well, the location is perfect for any landmark and destination you want to visit in Paris and there’s a plethora of amazing restaurants within two blocks of the hotel. The rooms a very spacious and you have a view of the Eiffel Tower.

I had the most incredible stay at Le Metropolitan, and it was primarily due to the head concierge, Kahina. From the moment I phoned to inquire about an early check-in (which she was able to accommodate) to the moment I checked out, Kahina provided the most unbelievable customer service. Every morning, my niece and I would head out for our da in Paris and Kahina was at the front desk inquiring how our previous day's adventures were, what was the plan for that day, and how could she help. Her knowledge of the area assisted us greatly. The location of this hotel is perfect. There are great restaurants all around. And at night, you have a beautiful view of the sparkly Eiffel Tower. If you are planning a trip to Paris, you will not go wrong booking this hotel.

This is a Marriott?! No way -- this is an incredible boutique hotel with less than 50 rooms in a superb location. Oh, and you can see the Eiffel Tower by stepping out the front door. Okay, the cons are that the rooms are unique and smallish, especially if you have a "Clam" style suitcase that opens in the middle. The other con is that hiccups happen -- such as a TV that comes on by itself and no remote for the TV in the room. However, the staff are extraordinary problem solvers who all speak perfect English. Must give a shout out to Kahina (concierge), Alina, and Stefan. Stefan went above and beyond to assist with printing (yes, paper printing) some tickets off cell phone. Merci, merci.

Great property in outstanding location. Just wish few improvements are done for the property to be 5 star - 1) Air Conditioning - AC works only seasonally and our room felt a little hot, and opening window was not an option due to noise. 2) Breakfast - they offer two options for breakfast, as marriott platinums we received a complimentary continental breakfast (which didn't offer much), but if you would like to order eggs of your choice - you have to pay additionally for it. In my opinion both of those options should be combined. Otherwise, it has same small rooms like in most hotels around Paris. Front desk personnel were very attentive and helpful!

We paid big money for the Eiffel Tower suite and received a welcoming champagne bottle and letter from the General Manager, Marina Goyheneche. Unfortunately, the MAJORITY of amenities in this room were broken. The bathtub did not properly drain, nor did it fill up whatsoever; after complaining to the front desk via phone, we were told that they couldn't do anything about it and that they were well aware of the broken tub but that there wasn't anything they could do. The television had a huge dent and was utterly broken as well; again, we were told the same thing, they were aware, and there was nothing they could do about it. We spoke to the general manager upon checkout and were told that they were sorry for the broken amenities, which negatively impacted our stay in the top-floor Eiffel Tower Suite; however, there was nothing they could do about it. To say this was disappointing is an understatement. Yes, the view was phenomenal, but given these guys are charging a similar price to the Shangri-La with an even better view and renowned reputation for service, for The Eiffel Tower Suite, our stay in the suite was not all that we dreamed it would be. The manager either needs to work with better maintenance staff to fix these recurring issues right away, or she may need a replacement altogether for more effective and efficient staff. Not to take it to replace staff, but given how expensive the suite was, we were kicking ourselves for not noticing the broken amenities and the stained floors with enough time to check out and find alternative accommodation. I cannot speak to the rest of the hotel as we stayed in the best possible room and have significant complaints about the suite; I cannot imagine what other issues the rest of the hotel may have. Better yet, we found out that these guys are in partnership with Marriot Hotels or bought by them, so this could also explain the lack of care for their reputation and level of service. Unless you're looking for a basic room and a cute area, save your money on the suites here and go somewhere more reputable, like the Shangri-La. It'll set you back a similar price.

Response from Marina GOYHENECHE, General Manager at Le Metropolitan, Paris Tour Eiffel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
Responded May 7, 2023
Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay in our Eiffel Tower Suite, especially with the broken bathtub and television. Please rest assured that we take these issues seriously and are doing everything we can to address them. As you mentioned, resolving the problem with the TV has been more complex than anticipated, involving multiple providers such as the TV and Wifi companies, our IT department, and our technicians. After some troubleshooting, we discovered that the issue may have been related to the Wifi network, and we had to check the cables and even call an electrician to make sure everything was properly connected. We have since replaced the Wifi router, and the TV should be fully functional again next week once the TV company updates their settings. Regarding your comment about our pricing, please note that we do not claim to be on par with a prestigious establishment like the Shangri-La. We strive to offer our guests a unique and comfortable experience at a fair price, and we are sorry that we fell short of your expectations on this occasion. I would be happy to discuss this matter further with you if you would like to reach out to me directly at info.metropolitan@dokhanluxuryhotels.com. Once again, I apologize for the issues you encountered, and I hope that you will give us another chance to show you the high level of service that we are known for. Best regards, Marina Goyheneche General Manager of Le Metropolitan

Great location, good room but unfortunately that’s where it ended for us. Check-in - Smooth and somewhat personable, thanks to Stephane. Room - we paid big $$$ for the Eiffel Tower suite and the view was definitely worth it. Room was a decent size for European standards. Overall service - terrible experience with the gentleman who was working at the front desk on Saturday, 8 April (day shift). Called him for restaurant recommendations in Paris, his response ‘Sorry I am new here, I can’t give you any recommendations’ and proceeded to hang up !!! hmmm WTF !! I was furious, I don’t care how new you are, if you are not ready to provide a 5 star service, please don’t bother jumping behind the front desk ! I then called again and got told, ‘I am too busy with guests’, I asked if I can be put through the concierge and was subsequently transferred to a gentleman who wasn’t much help either. I asked if I could speak to the hotel manager, I was told ‘Madame is off today’ - whatever, please fool someone else. You are in the hospitality industry, representing a major brand !!!!! The same afternoon, we requested an iron, which was broken and leaking water. When asked for the iron to be replaced, it never showed up. We then asked if we could swim and/or use the steam, only to be told it was under maintenance that afternoon. The bath in the suite takes almost an hour to fill up. If you are someone who cares about details, don’t stay here. Staff need some serious training. I sum it up as a five star location with a two star service. The view itself was not worth the money I paid for. Choose other Marriott options in Paris.
