Rooms look better in pictures, no coffee or tea in room, good wifi, good shower, no countertop space on bathroom. Small but comfortable room. Not very good breakfast, better get something outside, there are plenty of places nearby.

Good morning, Thank you for your comment. As you noticed, our hotel is ideally located to visit Paris: close to the shops, restaurants, the Opera and the main metro lines. We are sorry if the pictures of our rooms have misled you, but, as you pointed out, we do everything to make the rooms very comfortable: the bedding is changed frequently and renovations have also occurred. Tea and coffee are served with breakfast in our dining room. We are disappointed to learn that breakfast was not to your liking. The buffet consists of pastries and breads from a local bakery. You will also find eggs, quality charcuterie, several cheeses, and fresh fruit, so that everyone can enjoy. We hope to see you again soon. Best regards

We stayed here for a few days and it was perfect for exploring Paris. It's not too far from Gare du Nord as well and the hotel itself was clean, breakfast was good and generous and the staff were very friendly.

Hi Stephen, Thank you for your comment. As you noticed, our location is very convenient to visit Paris: we’re closed to the shops and the best attractions. We’re glad to see that you enjoyed the breakfast. The buffet is made with high quality products and typical French pastries from a local bakery. We will forward your compliments to our team who was very pleased to welcome you. Best regards,

I really, really want to write a great review of this hotel as there are things I do like a lot about it (great location, very comfortable bed, small but decent room) and some I am not too crazy about (the indifference of a particular person behind the front desk). But after a horrible experience , I know it’s impossible. I was out running, fell and sprained my ankle very badly. It was so swollen I had to get an Uber back to the hotel. When I got to the hotel, I was limping to this particular man behind the front desk, showed him my ankle which was swollen like the size of a golf ball and asked him if he has any ice in the hotel, since they serve breakfast every morning. He looked and me and flatly told me they had no ice in the hotel, or for that matter, anything cold to help keep the swelling down. I was in so much pain and I couldn’t believe the lack of empathy or concern from this man. He then told me that if I wanted to get ice outside, he could keep it cold for me. The best part was when he told me that this is a hotel, not a hospital. To the management of Hotel Lautrec Opera: you need to hire someone who represents your hotel better. I wasn’t expecting your staff to wait on me hand and foot. I was in so much pain and his nonchalance and lack of concern is so off putting I was speechless. What’s his job? Just to sit behind the front desk and scowl and be rude to the guests? It is such a waste as your hotel is in such a great location and such value for money too.

Disappointing stay, and this is why: - Whenever we asked a question, it was always met with an eyeroll/huffing and puffing, or a bare minimum explanation. - The wifi was not working properly on all days we were there, which was hugely inconvenient as I needed to do work, and my father often had trouble connecting everyday. - There was no hot water on the Monday/Tuesday we were there. - There was a sewage smell in the room throughout the whole week,, which we never brought to the attention of the front desk, but a maintenance guy came to the room on Thursday but the smell was still there until we left. - My father had placed the do not disturb sign on the door a few times throughout the week so he would get some rest, as he was recently diagnosed with cancer and gets more tired than normal. Even with the DND sign placed on the door, he was called multiple times/knocks on the door, after he said we only needed fresh towels and the room didn't need to be cleaned or beds made up. - We asked the front desk about the Big Bus Tours that they advertised on a few tables in the lobby, and we were presented with a higher rate with a "discount" that was equal to basically a booking amount that the hotel kept for themselves. We only wanted the bus for one day but were pushed to get a two day ticket, which wouldn't have worked due to my work meetings. In any case, we ended up booking the Big Bus Tour directly at the Big Bus Office on Avenue de l'Opera using the discount barcode that booking.com sent us, and the bus was 61 euro for the two tickets, compared to the almost 80 euro that the hotel wanted to charge. - Lastly, we booked the airport taxis through the hotel. The private taxi pickup at airport was fine but on the return to the airport on the final day, we were picked up by a shuttle van by a driver who clearly had her family in the van and was on her phone for the whole ride. We paid for a private taxi NOT a shuttle where my dad was squeezed in, and were expected to pay the full amount! Do not book your taxi through the hotel, as they have to have some type of "partnership" with this shuttle or taxi company and they don't live up to their word or receipt showing that a private taxi was booked and paid for! Much better and cheaper to book an Uber. The only positive thing was that my father and I liked that we ended up having the "Privilege" room, which was a little bigger, and the central location was very convenient as I was there for work while my dad explored the city for a few days.

Hotel was in a great location and was very comfortable. We were just a 2 minute walk from the Paris Metro and had hundreds of bistro's, restaurants, cafe's with-in easy walk. The hotel rooms were quite tight, but very useable, with very comfortable beds, plenty of pillows and respectable showers with plenty of pressure in the ensuite. Negatives were the very large sink in the very small ensuite and the lift breaking down for a short period just as we needed it to get up 4 floors to our room. Aside from these two points, the staff were very nice, extremely helpful, could communicate in English and made us feel welcome. We would definitely stay here again if hotel accommodation was our plan for our next visit.

Hi Graham, Thank you for your positive review on our hotel. We’re glad to see that you’ve enjoyed your room and the surroundings of our hotel. Indeed, our location is great to enjoy the best places of Paris. We apology for the little issue with the lift, but some of our customers do not respect the weight limit and it may cause some troubles (as you noticed the problem was quickly fixed). We will forward your compliments to our team who was very pleased to welcome you. We hope to see you again soon. Best regards,
