We had a lovely stay at this arty fun hotel. Staff were friendly, and reserved us a car parking space plus adjoining rooms for the children. The room had an apple mac tv and lots of fun features. it was clean and the kingsize bed was comfortable. 10 minute walk to the metro in a busy street, so no problem... More

My first impression: Hip boutique hotel offering santised English-speak & Californian-style home comforts to far-flung tourists wary of rough Parisien-types. So having got over my first impression this hotel is great fun and definitely worth a night's stay. Loved the black decor and bare (black) concrete walls, huge comfortable bed, quirky lights, amazing mirrors, neat Apple TV. Bathroom cramped but... More

Mama Shelter Location: Location is a huge liability for this rather hip, nice, and fun hotel. It is in the 20th arrond, which in itself is not a problem. The problem is that it is far from any metro stations. It is quite a hike to get to a metro station. Room: The room and the bathroom are on the... More

We loved Mama Shelter. The hotel strikes a good balance between a business hotel and a trendy boutique hotel. As a couple on a 'romantic break' to Paris we felt comfortable, but dont expect chintzy decor and pictures of couples kissing by the Eiffel Tower. This hotel is made for urbanites who want to explore and get a feel for... More

I booked Mama Shelter based on the reviews I'd seen on TripAdvisor. I knew that it wasn't in the center, but I didn't see that as a problem. I had family from California in tow and they were really 'wowed'. The decor was quirky, but the rooms were spacious for Paris. Yes, they thought the walk to the metro (a... More

I wasn't expecting too much from this hotel as we got a really good rate. About 90 euros a night. I thought it was going to be a bit average. But i was really pleasantly surprised. The room was small (like all in Paris) but the amenities were really good. The bathroom was nice and very clean and the bed... More

I searched out different hotels for my latest trip and the Mama Shelter did not disappoint. Affordability in Paris is always a challenge so being a bit away from the centre of the city was not a problem. I would definitely recommend it and can't wait until their NY property opens up.

a great hotel for quirkiness and modernity - rooms aren't big - we even upgraded to the mid-range (17sq m - 20 sq m) and it felt small. rooms are dark, as they're painted black and do have weird masks as light fixtures, but it actually felt quite cosy. we were on the top floor (the lift only goes to... i loved mamashelter. every review has gone on about the cool design, so i'll skip anything about that. except to say, every detail is accounted for. what else did i like? the neighborhood which was very convenient to everything by metro. i loved that there were no tourists about--i never ever once saw anyone walking with a guidbook the whole... Despite the old adage, if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all, I feel compelled to write a review of this hotel. And yes, you have guessed right, it's not going to be good. Let's start with the plus points. The hotel is reasonably priced, particularly for Paris, and the rooms spotlessly clean. If you are... More
