I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. Each night I was provided a different number of hand towels. The hotel provides you one tiny bar of soap per day, which you are supposed to use on your face, body, and hair (SEE PICTURE). On my second to last morning, I was using the toilet and leaned against the wall with my hand, which caused the wall in the bathroom to collapse, and it was not repaired by the end of my stay (SEE PICTURE). Further, it was never even mentioned to me after I had spoken to the front desk about it. As other reviews have stated, the lighting in the hotel room was terrible. To even have a chance of seeing things properly in your room, you have to turn all of the lights, which requires you flip no less than 6 separate switches located in different parts of the room. Also as other reviewers have stated, the climate control in the room does not work well. Further, the shelf in the hotel room for suitcases was too small to accommodate my suitcase, and most normal, non-carry-on size suitcases. The drapes in the room are also poorly designed in that they let in some light where the window meets the wall. One morning as I just exited the hotel, I spat down a sewer grate near the front door and thought nothing of it. Well, apparently, one of the front desk associates or managers (who was heavily tattooed and had a mustache) saw what I had done and in a fit of rage, went off on me (yelling), and told me no less than 5 times in a row what a rude, horrible, disrespectful person I am. Whether what I did could be considered offensive or not, I thought it was extremely inappropriate for a hotel employee to be treating a guest that way. Admittedly, I maybe could have shown better judgment, but it was handled extremely poorly by that employee.…
Let's start with the positive things: the staff is generally friendly and we liked the neighborhood off the beaten track. But: I cannot remember the last time I stayed in a hotel where you had to fight in order to prevent them from giving you new towels every day. By default, you should only get new towels if you throw them on the floor. Here you get new ones unless you discover that special sign that you need to hang up for the staff to see. Also very unusual not to have the electricity in the room linked to the room key. Instead you have to switch off all lights when you leave. One day, when we came back, the cleaner had obviously switched on the light and left it on the whole day. Again, not sustainable. Also: making everything very dark might be stylish but it means artificial lights everywhere, day and night. Reminds me of an Abercrombie & Fitch store in the early 2000s. Finally, the rooms are far too hot! and there is no way you can influence that. You cannot open the windows either. They say it's because now (in April) the 'system' is still in 'winter mode' and cannot be adjusted to 'summer mode'. So, even when temperatures outside are high, the building is heated as if it was winter outside. maybe time to adapt to the reality of climate change? Anyway: not my favorite place. Sorry for the staff, they try their best (except for the one day when they forgot to clean our room at all).…
What a hidden gem of a place. Me and my wife walked from the local metro to the restaurant, my advice would be to not be put off by the surroundings and if you're not careful you'll miss it, but once inside you won't be surprised. Really nice vibe playing some soul classics, friendly bar staff and the food was outstanding too. Would highly recommend for those of you looking to experience something different in Paris
Over the years we have stayed in this hotel several times and it is a good place for the beds, the short drive to the highway, the parking with EV charging but it is losing its edge. Where in the beginning the concept was unique it is no longer one-of-kind and you get annoyed by the lack of lighting in the rooms, the roof-top not being open, the Airco only heating and the decor fading. Nice masks on the lights but they have been there for several year now. Nice chalk drawing on the ceiling of the ground floor but it is not fresh any more. Great tapestry of the reception wall but is loosing color. The food is good, staff is more than friendly but it is not longer the place for design “pilgrims”.
Dark, so very, very dark. Black walls, black light switches, black electrical sockets, very poor lighting. I had to use the torch on my phone to find the light switches and the electrical sockets. I even had to use the torch on my phone to find my black handbag on the black floor in the dark room one evening. Small room almost entirely filled by the bed and a ginormous television. No desk space, and just a cheap plastic chair squeezed in at the table with the ginormous tv. Basic and ageing bathroom. On the plus side there was a microwave and a fridge, but nothing to make use of them - no cutlery, no cups or glasses, no tea or coffee. Personally I found the bed too hot. Fluffy mattress cover and big fluffy duvet combined with a hot room made the whole thing feel suffocating. Food in the restaurant tasted good but the service was incredibly slow, even though I got there early before it got busy. All in all not to my taste. Lighting and fresh air are more my cup of tea.…
Stayed for a few days on business. The hotel has a very sexy vibe which felt a bit odd for a business travel, but past that, the rooms were very comfortable, with decent wifi and particularly a great hotel bar/restaurant. While the food service was slow to come, the food itself at the restaurant was very good, so were the drinks. This isn't a family hotel for sure, besides that it's pretty good !
The hotel was conveniently situated for visiting friends and it’s a really cool hotel. The room was spotless and the bed really comfortable. The breakfast was also great. The only downside was the room I had in the second floor had bad sound insulation. The music was banging loud until 1:30 and then the scraping of chairs, putting them back in to place went on until 2:00 in the morning. This wouldn’t put me off from booking again but I’d ask for a quieter room
I stayed in a suite with a balcony, so a "nice" room. I had a rather long Zoom call during my stay and I was shocked to see that there is NOWHERE to plug in anything extra except the bathroom. There's a desk but no outlet (unless you unplug the light). No outlets close to the bed to plug in your phone. I had to move the heavy couch and dig around for an outlet (I found an extension cord finally) and set myself up awkwardly on the couch for my meeting. That's a HUGE oversight or omission on the part of the property IMHO. I won't stay here again.
We had such a great time staying in this hotel, that we went for a second time. The interior is super creative and en outages you to explore and find out all the details. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, as you may expect from a hotel like this. Rooms were a tad small, nothing too bad but do keep this in mind when you need a bit more space for your suitcase, for example. Will definitely try again, but will go and book their new hotel in the west side of Paris!
Firstly, don’t be put off my review if you’re a 20 something hipster with a beard and doesn’t enjoy sunlight and talking! This hotel deserves 5* alone for service and high quality rooms and restaurant! I had a gorgeous room with black walls and high quality fixtures and fittings. Beautiful rainforest shower & fluffy towels! But despite the many lights, it’s just dark and apparently‘ atmospheric’! They don’t do any form of rooms service and after an exhausting day of meetings, I didn’t want to eat in a restaurant that is dark and atmospheric and not knowing what I was eating because of the light! I had to track to the restaurant for food and drink because there was also no tea or coffee facilities, despite there being a beautiful area in room to house one, alone with a little fridge! This hotel is gorgeous, it’s cool hip and trendy. The food, despite not being able to see it very well was beautiful and tasty, served by wonderful and thoughtful staff! They couldn’t do enough! The staff are getting zero natural light and they should be given vitamin D, because I asked one of them what it was like working with no natural light, and they said they felt permanently exhausted! This really concerns me, because I travel a lot for work and their staff are 5* and nothing was too much trouble! This isn’t a bad review, it’s a ‘not my kind of place’ review! So 3* from me, 5* if your younger than me (40 something!) xx…
