We like to stay in the small hotels when travelling rather than chain hotels, and Hotel Central didn’t disappoint. Our room was small but charming and clean. The little decorating details added to the charm. The bathroom was small too, but perfectly adequate. We had breakfast in the little courtyard which was very pleasant. Staff were friendly and some spoke excellent English. They allowed us to leave our luggage there after checking out as long as needed. The hotel is in a great location. Easy to walk to the bus stops and restaurants, cafes and shops. Some good gelati in town too!

At the recommendation of a Corsican friend, I stayed at this hotel not once but twice. The desk is friendly and its location is ideal if you are coming or going by ferry, since it's a short walk to the pier. The rooms I've had have been quaint and country French. Quite comfortable with their own little balconies. Breakfast is offered and it's a nice continental spread. I'd certainly stay here again. I was flying to and from the island and had a lift but taxi fares are about 40 Euros; there's also a bus that is cheaper. Recommended for a short stay in Bastia, for sure.

Well located and friendly service, with a cosy if cramped inner garden and a personal touch - the building has great character, but maybe not for those who demand straight corners and glitz. The downside was that we got a fourth floor room - the hotel has no elevator and the stairs look charming but are rather steep. Especially when you have to drag your luggage up them. For us it was not an issue, though, and the location is very good. Parking space is prime out no the street, but it is a short walking distance (2 blocks) to a parking with both outdoors and underground parking space (Parking Place St-Nicolas). Park there and walk, instead of blocking the street while unloading. I'd definitely stay at this hotel again,

Stayed for 7 nights, hotel is very central, surrounded by restaurants, shops and bars. Ten min walk to the harbour, and all the restaurants surrounding the beautiful boats, and a view of the citadel over looking it all. The hotel is traditional and elegant with original features intact. The bathroom was new and shiny. The basement at street level with a quiet room and full of local art work. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English, there is no lift but helpful staff helped. Would highly recommend it and will return

Booked here months in advance for our honeymoon. They cancelled our Junior Suite months in advance without notice and we very unpleasantly surprised on arriving in Bastia to find this out. Proceeded to tell us to recollect our car (already returned) and to drive far out of town to find somewhere else. Thanks for wrecking the end of our honeymoon.
