We were visiting Reims for a weekend of sightseeing and of course visiting Champagne Houses. We chose the Mercure for its location, plus it had a car park, they had a reasonable deal, and a Mercure usually assures a decent standard of hotel. The location is about 5-10 minutes walk from the city centre, across the road from the Canal...

After reading some horrendous reviews on TripAdvisor we were very concerned. We were pleasantly surprised! Yes, there was major renovations going on between 9-5 and the rooms shake! There is no escaping the noise, so if you need to nap or be in the hotel during the day, stay somewhere else for sure. The management made no apologies or gave...

we stayed in this hotel for 3 nights early September as part of a Railbookers holiday (I highly recommend Railbookers as travelling by train was a great way to arrive refreshed in France) at the time of our arrival the hotel was undergoing refurbishment so we were a bit alarmed at the amount of noise and the obvious work going...

A good hotel for a short stay in Rheims or a stop-over, which is what we used it for. Close to the cathedral and city centre and a short walk to the canal. Clean and smart with a good choice for breakfast and professional staff. Free wifi access.

The hotel is a Mercure standard hotel located about 10 mins walk away from the famous Reims Notre-Dame Cathedrale. It is located across a scenic canal. The hotel has a bar and restaurant on a mezzanine floor. The food was OK. The breakfast was typical continental buffet. Complimentary wifi connection was good.

Some reviewers have commented that this hotel is dated, while more recent ones have reported that it is being renovated. Both are correct, but when the builders have completed their task the interior should be elegant and modern and the work in progress did not interfere with our stay. Our room had everything needed for an overnight stay and the...

Good value, close (5 mins walk) to the Cathedral. Great if you are travelling by car as the garage is large (but still book ahead) and the lift takes you from the garage to your floor, via reception if need be - all very convenient for the business traveller, or indeed any traveller arriving by car. One word of caution,...

We arrived Sunday to find the hotel was a building site. This was not noted on the website when we booked the week before. the builders started at 08:30 Monday. To be fair our room was good and newly refurbished as was the corridors. The aircon didn't cope with the 38deg. temperature. The location was good and handy for the...
