Clean, pleasant place to stay. Yes it is on an industrial estate but so are a lot of "motel" style hotels in France. The hotel was in the process of being upgraded so there were hitches but the staff overcame any issues. The food in the evening was simply cooked but good.

We have stayed at this hotel, not by choice, on many occasions and have always found it to be of a very low standard. However! we were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel and staff had/has improved out of all recognition, this was much, we felt, due to the new host/hostess. Still away out of town, but as an overnight... More

This was a very disappointing end to our Shearings holiday at Lake Maggiore. Our room, 107, was cold and small. The bathroom was newly refitted so we were fortunate. However for older people, it was most unsuitable as the bathroom was so small that it was impossible to dry yourself in there. There was a high step into the shower... More

Fiddly to get to off the motorway. Hotel in an industrial area. Parking for about 20 cars. Only French spoken and male receptionist was effective but unwelcoming. Room was cold and tiny - more like a cell. Window was open and would not close. When shutter was down no outside noise intruded, but other guest's toilet flushing and showers were... More

We stayed at the Cottage Hotel for one night (thank god it was only one night) on a Shearings coach tour. First impressions of the hotel were good – it looked clean, it looked modern and it has a nice vibe. Once we entered our room things changed dramatically. The room was tiny, and I mean TINY and it stunk... More

A nice little hotel with a great chef. We stayed here for a night stopover on our way home. The rooms are compact and the bathroom even more compact. The room is also set within a retail park but was advised that it was easy to get to the city centre by bus. All this was overlooked by the amazing... More

We stayed over night with Shearings. Although we arrived later than expect we were greeted with a smile and a lovely meal. Our bedroom was small but everything we needed. Ensuite was very clean with plenty of hot water. Plenty to chose from at breakfast and a lovely touch was a wave good-bye from the owner.

Stayed here for one night as part of Leger tour. The hotel is in the middle of an industrial estate. The public area are clean and airy. However the rooms are very cramped. Neither the room or the bathroom were very clean - dusty, floor sticky, hand basin grubby. The bathroom appeared to have been recently refurbished with a new... More
