We were expecting exellente service and food, but he did not deliver. No one ask us about the meal or if we feet good. We are very dissapointed. Vincent, a waiter, was the only one of 4, who took care of us

Monsieur Hotel manager was both frosty and peremptory in his eventual acknowledgement of our arrival on a wet, windy evening. I wandered towards the restaurant - an open archway entrance beside the hotel lobby - and was remonstrated with. Enquiries to view the restaurants menus were rudely rejected. This was an enforced stop as we - three ladies of a certain age - had to cut our ski break short because of an emergency at home. Had it not been so late in the day we would have left before accepting the rooms. We ate at a very hospitable and high quality local brasserie because we would not patronise either of Berceaux restaurants on principle. This will be one to avoid when we return to Epernay with partners and friends in the summer.

Position was great - 3 minutes walk fro Avenue de Champagne. Breakfast was OK but a bit pricey for what was offered. Rooms clean and fair size (one double, one twin) Bistro restaurant magnificent and seemed to share the kitchen with its Michelin Star brother. Parking is in the street so you may need to go round the block a couple of times to find a space but cost of on-street not bad and a big car park only 200m away

The owner who is the chef is very rude and the ist floor stinks of sewage which we brought to the attention of the owner as we felt very sick. The owner got very apusive and asked us to leave once we brought it to his attention, the property is very tired and very expensive, we booked into the ibis which was fantastic which know we use every time we go to Eppennay

We were looking for a hotel late in the day, so we were relieved to find a place in this Michelin recommended hotel. The hotel clerk was gruff, and did not inform us of wifi, and seemed bothered by our questions about parking. She tried to steer us to their restaurants, but we opted out. Room okay, a little dated (especially the bathroom), and definitely small. But okay for price. No A/C, and the open window and light on drew thousands of flying critters. Not sure how to handle it, we politely asked at the reception desk if this is common and how should we handle it (we were very polite, I figured, without A/C or screens, it must be common and they probably know what to do). We were greeted with rudeness, as if we were ignorant ("this is the country, we have bugs, just like in your country" -- we just wanted to know if they bite and is it common -- there were literally 1000s of them on the ceiling! She gave us a (surprisingly conveniently located next to her arm on the reception desk) can of bug spray. We sprayed, they died -- all over the bed and in our luggage. But we slept fine. Breakfast just okay. Morning receptionist friendlier, but still not very informative about tourist information, even when asked. We wanted to know what the best way is to taste different champagnes -- was there one place to go, do we just go hopping from champagne house to house, when are they open or closed -- this should be standard tourist info in the center of Champagne! You would have thought we were asking questions about Mars. Did not like the vibe of this place. We were on a three week road trip, and of the 15 or so different hotels we stayed at, this was our worst memory.
