Stayed here from Thursday 1st Sept to Monday 5th as part of a 60 person group visiting the area . The owners and staff were fantastic , and looked after us very well . The hotel itself is steeped in character , it has a good ambience , even though it is quite unmodernised .The rooms aren't massive , but... More

We found this hotel on our way home from italy six years ago and were so impressed we decided to stay on our way down to italy this year and on our return journey. The hotel is a little basic but very clean and they are in the process of giving some rooms a facelift. The food is very good... More

This is a big hotel restaurant that needs a bit of investment to bring it up to scratch. Our double room was ok but very basic. Not great in any department but not awful either. At least you can have a decent shower which isn't always guaranteed in France! The restaurant food was nice - but the service was probably... More

A prefect hotel for British bikers heading south: the right distance from the Tunnel/Port on interesting roads (or motorway if taking a late crossing) in a quiet village, with discrete parking at the back to keep the bikes secure. The hotel itself has a public bar with locals providing atmosphere, some <ahem> interesting displays of the tools of champagne cultivation... More

Having eaten in the restaurant and been happy to return, we expected the hotel to be fine. We did not mind that the decor was a little dated and tired and noticed some rooms are in the process of being renovated. However, the bed was SO hard! We expected a good breakfast, but were sadly disappointed. The hot items consisted... More

The hotel was friendly and welcoming but the rooms badly needed updating. We had a room with wallpaper coming g off the wall under the window. The room was clean but the furniture was in need of replacement. The restaurant was quite expensive and the food was not very good however the breakfast was excellent.

There is not much to say about the hotel. Most important - it is clean. But it needs badly some renovation, especially the bathrooms. We didn't feel like taking a shower there. But the restaurant we liked a lot. Simple delicious food, packed with locals on a Sunday lunch. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Could have been less... More

We stayed in Epernay, and wanted to have a nice dinner at Sunday evening. Many of the upscale restaurants in Epernay were closed. So we googled and found this auberge. To our surprice the restaurant served us a dinner that, in taste, could compete with the fabulous restaurant in the orangerie of Chateaux d'étoges! Next stay in Champagne we will... More
