Four of us stayed here for two nights late November ’21 for a short visit to the area to eat good food and do some champagne tastings/purchasing. We have visited Epernay many times but this was the first (and last) time at the Premiere Classe Epernay. This is a budget hotel and at around £35.00 per night expectations aren’t too high. The good points, rooms were clean, bed linen nice and fresh, polite and attentive staff, and the few Euros for a cold buffet breakfast was good. The not so good point was just one. Despite signs everywhere banning smoking, the whole hotel smells of cigarette smoke! We asked for rooms on the top floor at the end of the corridor, this request was met with nicely, unfortunately both rooms completely stank of tobacco, we walked in and walked out again. Reception were very accommodating and offered us two other rooms, these we took but very quickly realised there was still aromas of smoke. Our friends room had a slight smell of stale cigarette smoke, our shower room stunk, which is odd as they are a plastic pod style, I can only assume the tobacco has ingrained everywhere, highlighted by the cigarette shape burn in the plastic floor. In short, what could be a nice, clean, no-frills budget hotel is completely let down by the no smoking rule not being enforced. We won’t be staying here or risking any other Premiere Classe hotel again.

We stayed one night and we couldn't ask any more from Premiere Classe. Rooms were tidy, beds comfy, good location, on-site parking, good wifi, good breakfast and air-conditioning - this was very appreciated! Money saved going here instead of elsewhere meant we could buy extra Champagne!

We stayed here for two nights as it’s a much cheaper alternative to a majority of other accommodation options in Eperney. We had a couple of issues with the hotel... the room smelt like cigarettes. People have obviously either smoked in our room or smoked in other parts of the hotel where the air con has transported the cigarette smoke around the hotel. Also, our room wasn’t made up despite us leaving the sign on the door. Finally, the bathroom needs to have an extra towel for a bath mat or something as because it’s so small, there’s nowhere to get dry inside the bathroom and it lacks ventilation in there too! Not a bad stay, the train station is easily accessible and the town centre is too! It’s a good walk back from Avenue de Champagne, about 25mins!

Stayed over while travelling through France. Service excellent, incredible value. Drains in the bathroom had a bit of a smell, but the bathroom itself was very clean. Reception friendly and efficient. Beds comfortable. We’ve stayed several times, and will be staying again.

Booked and paid in advance for two triple rooms, but on arrival given two doubles (we are a family of six and have four young children). I was told there were no triple rooms and was offered another double room (at my expense) which I declined. After two calls to her manager, the receptionist then miraculously found two triple rooms. However - once we’d settled down for sleep - someone tried to access one of the rooms with a key. Several further attempts and eventually the door was opened by the receptionist who seemed surprised to find the room occupied. I showed her my room key and she shrugged her shoulders at me and the other bewildered guests standing outside the room and walked off. I don’t know if they were ever given a room... The hotel itself is fine. Our floor smelt of stale smoke, and one of our rooms had clearly had previous occupants who smoked in the room. Beds comfortable enough, and the triple rooms were exactly what we expected once we were in them. Car park seemed well lit and safe, and it is possible to walk into town. Quite a lot of noise - the rooms are not well soundproofed and there is a busy road and train-line on either side of the hotel. It is cheap and good value, but I’m not sure I would risk turning up late and expecting my booking to be honoured - even if paid in advance.
