The only downside was that our room was a bit cramped and, without any air circulation, it was pretty sticky at night. However La Heraudiere was a haven and provided us with a very warm welcome plus the opportunity to sample and buy a couple of pots of jam. Our hosts could not have been more charming or helpful. While...

Selected at random from the internet as a convenient half way stop on our rout, La Heraudiere proved to be an absolute French gem. Old world charm and hospitality in abundance. So much so that we immediately booked for our return 10 days later. Located surprisingly in a modern suburb, once you enter the gates you are taken back to...

Our room was very comfortable, very clean and full of charm. Real treat with homemade jams and yoghurt. Owners were very welcoming and the grounds are pretty at this time of year. We enjoyed sitting out until dusk at one of the tables. Local area is good for cycling and taking in the chateaux.

We stayed at La Heraudiere in July for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It's a little treasure just set outside the city of Tours so you've got the best of both worlds. We were travelling with our two small children and my parents in law and it suited everyone. They have a great large garden for the...

We had the family room next to the lounge which was comfortable and nicely appointed. Breakfast was delicious with homemade yogurt, breads and homemade jams. Fast wifi was a useful bonus too. Would come back again.

A very warm welcome from a couple running a very efficient and well kept guest house. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Very highly recommended and a good jumping off point for exploring the city of Tours.

This was overnight stopover, we were given the family rooms, which were clean and comfortable. Kids room had toys, books and games. We had dedicated bathroom and toilet. Lovely garden, lots of shade and play area for children in the trees, which they loved. Very hospitable couple, helpful at all times. Breakfast was continental, which was as expected seen as...

My partner and I were travelling to the Poitiers area and we thought this place would suit. How wrong. Not a rural idyll at all. We arrived at 3.30 and were informed that we could not enter till 5.30pm. We had been on the road for over four hours, in temperatures of over 40 degrees and were exhausted. We were...
