We booked to stay here as a stopover on the way back from our holidays down South. The hotel receptionist coped patiently with my comedy French when I telephoned, and emailed me to confirm the booking, so a promising start. The hotel has a fairly unassuming facade but is situated centrally in the small, neat town of Sandillon. Orleans is...

The Un Toit Pour Toi certainly does not have a lot of kerb appeal probably not a place you would choose on spec. We eventually found someone in reception and were very surprised when we had a porter to take our bags. We had booked a larger room which was up two flights with thread bare stares and our doubts...

We chose Sandillon as a convenient mid way stopover from Calais en route to the Dordogne. Its about 8 miles outside Orleans & without SatNav we took several wrong turns before arriving. Sandillon is an empty little town that has an outstanding patisserie just round the corner from the hotel but literally nothing else! Going down this wasn't a problem...

We stayed overnight here in early August 2012 on our way south with two late teenage children, and could not have found a better way to break the journey. Shabby chic is the right term for the decoration. It is a very comfortable, unpretentious inn in a mid sized village. The staff were friendly, the service good and the food excellent....

This combination of fairly basic accommodation with excellent cuisine worked well for a one night stay. The standard double room was clean, had a good mattress and nice linen, plenty of hot water and served its purpose, but the Annexe building itself obviously imposed limitations as to what could be done. The main restaurant was fully booked but the food...

We felt the Gastronomique choice was rather expensive so opted for the Brasserie. We were not disappointed - the food was excellent. The two flights of stairs were very steep and narrow which made it extremely difficult with our heavy luggage. The stair carpet was threadbare which is a pet hate of ours. The room was noisy from the street...

We stayed in the 'annexe' part of the hotel overlooking the terrace. Nothing special about the room just typical french basic accommodation, comfortable bed. Good value though at 83 euros including breakfast. We chose the 'Gastronomique' option for dinner and were blown away with the exceptional quality of food and service. Heston Blumenthal would have applauded the efforts of the...

A pleasant Logis with helpful friendly staff. Our room overlooked the terrace, where we ate in the evening. We had a bath and separate WC. 86 euros, including breakfast. Dinner was excellent and breakfast good too. We could even have had eggs cooked to our liking, a rarity for France.

We had a room in an annexe, with flowery wallpaper covering the room; typical old-style French small hotel. The bed was two linked singles and was very comfortable. The half board option was startlingly small and basic, with little choice. Starters were either melon and ham or crudites and the main course was stuffed tomatoes. When we looked unimpressed by...
