We spent a week in The Knight's Cottage here in July. We had a wonderful time and Philippe is a great host, an ex-Parisien chef 'retired' to the country. If you need to know anything then ask. We'd been to Loches as a couple a few years ago and so when we returned with a 2 year old this time... More

My wife and I spent the month of May travelling in England, France, and Switzerland. My wife wanted to see the chateaux of the Loire Valley so we took a chance that Loches (rather than Amboise) might be a good home base for the region. After much (internet) searching we decided to stay at La Maison de l’Argentier in Loches.... More

This is a very special hotel. It is in a 16th century building just below the royal chateau. Each room is quite individual and there can be no more than about 5. Ours was the library room and had a magnificent collection of books, including the full works of Balzac. The garden is lovely, full of roses and other lovely... More

We had a week in the Jaques Coeur apartment on the ground floor of this beautiful old treasury house. The building is situated just below the chateau of Loches and is turreted with a rose garden - a really romantic place to stay! We, like most, had a little trouble finding it, despite a map sent by the owners, and... More

We have just left this special B &B. It is small, unique and one of a kind. I hesitate to recommend it because I want to be able to come back, but it's too good not to share. We stayed on the Jaques Cours right on Shia is wonderful when booked with the adjoining room as it allows you the... More

We stayed a week and self catered. The place was quirky and had the medieval feel about it. Well set up to cook if you wished or buy from the market and eat out in the garden. There were bikes we never used. Situated right in the old town and attached to the chateau it is an ideal location for... More

We so enjoyed our three-night stay at La Maison de l'Argentier du Roy. Phillipe provided us with a most informative history of the property and the area and the breakfast provided by Christine each morning, along with information about things to do in the area, was a pleasure. We visit Loches most years and now always stay here with Phillipe and Christine. Beautiful, historic house that has been lovingly retired by them.
