Stayed here as a cross between a half way house and a treat while traveling down from Calais to Bergerac. And what a treat! The staff were very friendly (They even let me play on their piano) and helpful, the rooms were excellent with large very comfortable beds. My mouth is watering while I type this at the memory of... This is an amazing old chateau and well worth a visit and a stay if you are in the Loire Region in spring. Bear in mind it is a couple of hours out of Paris by TGV (train). We ended up catching a train to Tours (about 150 per person return) and then a taxi to St Patrice (village) from... More

Over the past 7 years I have stayed here several times. Each time it gets better.Very friendly and helpful staff, well appointed bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms to a high standard with huge fluffy bath towels.Lovely grounds and really superb food. On the spur of the moment four of us decided as the weather was poor to stay in and have lunch, what a... More

My husband, myself and 10 friends spent 4 nights at Chateau de Rochecotte to celebrate my husbands birthday. We ate at the hotel on three nights, two formal meals and one casual 'cheese and wine' meal. Both formal meals were excellent, one meal was a birthday celebration and the staff made it feel very special, service before and during the... More

A nice stay but the not really worth the money or the drive to it from key towns such as Saumur or Chinon.. We recently stayed for two nights. the room in the Pavillion building (separate to the main building @173euro!) was clean and tidy and size was good but certainly no wow factor.. We ate breakfast one morning in... More

The hotel looks very nice from outside but rooms are old fashion but clean. They don't even serve coffee, tea ... Bed are not so comfortable and very basics bedsheet...the key of the room is still an old model and not a card... The room of my kids was above the kitchen , so the smell was awful in it... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in early Sept 2015. The grounds and Chateau are very well maintained and very grand. The restaurant was fabulous, delicious food both nights. We stayed in the pavilion (not the main building), which was perfectly fine. The only consideration (for the main building as well I believe) is you need to take luggage up... More

We were first in a tiny depressing room but were later changed to a bigger room when we requested a change after discussing with other members of our group and checking their rooms. Made us wonder why we were not given the larger room in the first place as it appeared that the chateau was not very full. The room... More

We stayed at this Chateau for a couple of nights. We ventured out to see some local cathedrals and gardens so it was a good "home base". This chateau is located at the top of a hill. It looks out over the Loire valley. Thus, the views are nice. They have gardens surrounding the place. They are not awesome but... More
