My husband and I and our adult daughter stayed here. We had a room with four beds, on the top floor. We loved being able to have a glass of Chinon wine (excellent), walk to dinner, walk around the town at night and hear the frogs singing, and had a good night's sleep. With no screens on the windows and...

Chinon is a super cute small town in the liore valley. Although all the chateaux towns are nice, hotel diserot makes this one special. Its a great place to base yourself to explore the area. The staff are very helpful, and speak english, but will be patient with your broken french if you are trying to learn. You will not...

We had a splendid long weekend with a classic car club, and had a superb time at the Diderot. Our group was made very welcome, and the staff were most helpful in recommending local restaurants for our evening meals. Although the hotel doesn't serve meals in the evenings, it was only a short walk to a wide range of restaurants...

When we arrived, by car, we were greeted warmly by Barbara. She had us park in the front yard of the hotel and then proceeded to brief us on the layout. She was very helpful in providing dining recommendations for that evening (we stayed only 1 night). In the details of their property they fail to CLEARLY mention (nor did...

We just loved our stay at Hotel Diderot. I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Chinon. The staff are friendly and helpful, and gave us lots to good information about the town. The room we stayed in was filled with character, the antique furniture gave it a real country feel. Our bed was very comfortable and we had...

Quaint rustic hotel just a short walk from the centre of Chinon. Staff were very friendly, nothing was too much for them to do and always had a smile. The breakfast was full of local produce, bread, cheese, honey, walnuts, yoghurt, apple juice and over 30 homemade jams. We will certainly stay again.

Well, we must say that staying in this hotel was the best experience of our vacation. We went to cities like Annecy, Strasbourg, Paris, but none of them offered a hotel like this with the price that we wanted. Since we arrived until the moment we left we were in heaven! The breakfast with all the jams was unforgettable. The...

If you're planning a trip to the Loire Valley, this hotel, situated in Chinon, is of great value. Book well in advance as there are only 27 rooms and this is a popular spot for cyclists, since it has a reputation as a 'quiet hotel.' The innkeeper, Laurent, makes a wonderful selection of jams and jellies and this family operated...

We really enjoyed out time at Hotel Diderot. The staff was very friendly and their food suggestions were great. The hotel is close to the center of Chinon, so there are plenty of restaurants and the Chateau de Chinon is within walking distance. The parking is convenient and only 6 Euros per day. The only criticism is that the walls...

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Diderot this past December to celebrate the new year; my sister and my cousin and her husband met us in Chinon and stayed at the Hotel Diderot as well. The Dutheil family – Laurent, Martine and Francoise – are generous hosts who make a stay at the Hotel Diderot warm, comfortable and...
