Our trip to Chartres started badly, deviation signs everywhere made a difficult hotel to find an absolute nightmare. The manager had kindly sent by email a page of "how to find us notes" which without I doubt we would have managed. When we arrived we unloaded our bags directly outside the hotel and then drove to the underground car park...

If you want 5 star luxury, go to a Marriott or something similar. if on the other hand you want something full of character and individuality, this is a lovely small (5 room) hotel right in the sqaure by the marvellous Chartres cathedral. The people who run it are really trying hard and it shows. Simple, clean, good value for...

We stayed for 1 night in October and were glad we chose this hotel. Its located right next to the Cathedral and we had a great view from our window. We have a baby and getting the pram and bags up the narrow staircase was a mission but once you're up there its great. Our room was clean, comfortable and...

The owner has put her heart and soul into this place. Very nice, clean, quiet, and well decorated hotel. The Cathredral sits just a few yards away which makes for a fantastic view from the rooms. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chartres who does not require handicap accessability. Call or email for driving directions prior to arrival.

We arrived in Chartres after two wet days and nights camping in a small tent and went to the Tourist Office as we needed somewhere to stay. All of the hotels were full and then the young man suggested Le Parvis which had a room. The room we stayed in was Louis and it was wonderful full of character. It...

This was our fourth visit to Chartres. I feel a strong connection to the cathedral and it draws me back often. After previously staying at hotels in the town, we decided to try Le Parvis. It will be where we stay from now on in Chartres. Located across the street from the cathedral, the former private home built several centuries...

The hotel is an old restored mansion house right next to Chartres Cathedral. Our room on the second floor (called the Henri IV room and the proprietress explained that Henri IV was the only king of France to be crowned at Chartres) was huge, running the whole depth of the building (the back looks out onto another street) with a...

The location of this hotel/restaurant is good, but there are others similarly good so they should be more careful how they treat their clients. Obviously thinking we weren't going to understand, one of the women working there made a very rude comment and insulted us while talking to another employee. This clearly upset us and made our stay in Chartres...
