What an idyllic place to stay, great location, wonderful rooms, welcoming hosts and delicious breakfast (plus we all fell in love with the hosts lovely dog, Elliot) our only regret was that we we're only staying the one night on a stop over en route to Spain. Totally recommended and thoroughly deserves its great reviews.

We stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast on our travels to Italy. Sophie was exceptionally knowledgable on the area and as soon as we arrived gave us lots of inforamtion about local restaurants, the walk into town and the night tour of the medieval sites. The house was stunning, and the decor is in keeping with the period. The... More

I fully endorse the previous reviewers' comments. The welcome from Sophie, Giles, Elliott and their family is very warm. Nothing is too much trouble and they had excellent suggestions for restaurants and other attractions to visit in the area. Giles happily made restaurant bookings and Sophie's breakfast spread is very comprehensive and furthermore, it is all home made! The shared... More

This is a French Gem, in my view the best bed and breakfast ever. The property is gorgeous; it is a traditional period French house. Originally the home of a French Industrialist, it has loads of original features and has been lovingly and sympathetically decorated to the highest standards and tastes to reflect the houses heritage. The accommodation reflects this... More

We have stayed here on many occasions while travelling to or from the South of France. It really does justify the stellar reviews on Tripadvisor - I can't fault it . There's a very warm welcome from Sophie and Elliott the dog, the house itself is beautiful, the rooms are wonderfully clean and full of character. The beds are great... More

We were greeted by Sophie, a wonderful welcome, she let us practice our limited French! The house is gorgeous, we enjoy staying in historic (for Australia) accommodation and this house was wonderful. We had a good breakfast and a peaceful nights sleep (quiet). Many thanks to our hosts for giving us the opportunity to stay in a place like this,... More

We stayed one night while travelling westward. We were welcomed by Sophie and Elliott with great warmth, immediately setting the tone for what was a fabulous stay! A very beautiful period house, comfortable and charming. Sophie offered drinks in the salon and excellent tips for our evening spent in the old town.A delicious homemade breakfast too! Of our two week bed... More

To my shame, I have just realised that, having stayed here six times, I have never written a review. It is the best B & B in France that we know (there is an equal in the Dordogne!) Booking is easy. The welcome is super. There is safe parking. The themed rooms are as comfortable as one could ever want.... More

This is more a Chambres d'hote. Beautiful spacious room and lovely pale grey decor. Large en suite. tiny balcony overlooking front garden. Breakfast was all home made lightest of banana bread, preserves, grown in the garden, fresh home made yoghurt. One large table shared with the other guests. I believe 4 rooms in total. Friendly english speaking hostess, and an... More

We booked this hotel as a last minute overnight stay during the return leg of a recent holiday to the south of France. It is situated within walking distance (15 minutes) of the beautiful city of Bourges. Sophie & Gilles are excellent hosts and both helpful and knowledgeable. As others have stated before the hotel is exquisite and immaculate and... More
