We were recommended this site by friends. We were not disappointed. The pitches are spacious and the site is situated by the river with lots of shade. The staff were wonderfully friendly and very helpful. A short walk from Azay le Rideau, where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes. Close by there is a decent supermarket where you can... More

Straightforward site with loads of room and pleasant shady pitches by a bug free river. The grass was a bit long but it gave a nice rural feel. Facilities clean. Staff really friendly and helpful. Very good value. Easy stroll into attractive village with good farmers market. Wonderful easy cycling routes and lots of interesting variety in places to visit.... More

We loved this campsite. Facilities not too bad. Short walk into the town. The nearest Carrefour has a serve yourself milk station, this was a big hit with all the family. Great location for the Chateaux of the Loire. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

We found this campsite almost by accident on our July 2015 mini-tour of France and we ended up staying for the remainder of our holiday. Spacious pitches, plenty of showers, toilets and washing up facilities all kept extremely clean, beautiful location on the river, plenty of shady pitches if you prefer, lovely helpful and welcoming lady in reception, laundry facilities,... Lovely site in a beautiful village great staff nice clean facilities. Stopped here by chance intended to stay one or two nights max ended up staying 5 so relaxing and easy going. Acsi card accepted and discount given. So much better than sites in Germany who should send their staff to France to learn manners and customer interaction.

we really liked this campsite, it's everything you'd expect from a Municipal. Calm, well-ordered, nice setting by the river (though you can't swim in the river), big shady pitches, well-managed facilities. We stayed in August but it didn't feel crowded. Being able to use the municipal swimming pool next door for free is great too. Azay le Rideau is a... More

We arrived at the site at about 6 pm on 5th July and had a feeling we were going to like it from the moment we turned the corner into the road leading to the site. We had been recommended by some friends and were not disappointed. We hadn't made a reservation but there were plenty of spaces and the... More

Camped here on many occasions while touring France on my motorcycle. One of the nicest campsites in France. Its a short walk to the Chateau and the town centre. There some lovely family-run shops in the town and the patissere does cakes you can only dream of.Don't worry about speaking French, the patrons have a good grasp of English and... More

Doing something that we’ve never done before; turning up at a site unbooked and taking a “risk”, my family and I were very pleasantly surprised when we stayed at Le Sabot over the Jubilee weekend; finding the site not only conveniently situated a few hundred yards from the town centre, but also from the Autoroute. The staff were polite and... More

Great location, shade from trees, riverside, chateau across river. Free access to municipal swimming pool next door (pick up ticket from campsite reception). Facilities cleaned regularly. Bread van arrives each morning, good restarants within 5 mins walk. Quiet each night by about 10:30pm (can hear music from show in chateau grounds 6:30-10:00 or so, but not intrusive).
