Wonderful staff and great food. The food was lovely on all levels. It was inventive without being over the top with excellent ingredients used. I had sweet breads for the first time since a kid and they were fantastic. We came here to celebrate a 60th Birthday and I cannot fault them. Good people food and place.

My wife and I took a road trip through France during October 2015. We took a Brittany Ferry to Bilbao and then drove into France, stopping initially in the Pyrenees and journeying on to the Dordogne and finally catching a ferry home from Ouistreham. The road trip was a combined gourmet experience and sightseeing trip. All the hotels we stayed...

This is a rural location, outside Azay le Rideau but easily accessible. I read some reviewers comments about no staff at reception etc and can only disagree. The hotel signals it is open at 6pm; we were greeted and welcomed by a helpful member of staff, who showed us to our very very pleasant room on the ground floor next...

This restaurant with rooms is a real find. Very unpretentious, it is secluded and surrounded by apple groves. The food was beautifully presented, with interesting combination of flavours. Dining outside added to the ambience, spoiled only a little by the gentle aroma of silage as the wind changed direction. Unexpectedly, our room was large, airy and well appointed - on...

This was a one night stop over travelling south with our dog. The Auberge is set amongst orchards in a rural farming location. The proprietor was very welcoming. Our room was large, and although slightly quirky, the bed was king size and extremely comfortable. Our room also had access straight onto the gardens which was useful when travelling with a...

We had an overnight stay here recently and like a previous reviewer had problems booking in. Although they had our booking,as we had phoned to check, when we arrived at 4.30 the place was deserted. After well over an hour someone arrived (we are not sure what their role in the operation was) with no word of apology and showed...

My wife and I stayed here for one night on our back from the Dordogne on 31st August 2014 to catch the ferry from Caen the next day. Our room , I think was called peach , very very comfortable.. Our meal cooked by the owners son was outstanding although the menu was limited. He had apparently been trained in...

In February we had made a confirmed reservation for dinner and an overnight stay here in June. Arrived about 6pm to find no one on reception (no bell). The chef (Bastien Gillet) eventually arrived and after much looking at paperwork and the computerised booking system admitted, after prompting from us, that there was a problem ... he could find no...

Nice comfortable room. Air conditioning was rather noisy. Only other complaint was that the menu did not change so short on choice if staying more than one night. But the food was very good. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

High quality rooms and good food, more of a restaurant with rooms than hotel. But not very child friendly or particularly flexible. With set menu not varying then a single night is probably better than the two we stayed, and we thought it was relatively expensive for what we got. (5 euro for a small glass of coca cola felt...
