Hotel's Favorite
We spent three pleasant nights here. The building, as can be seen by the photos, is very beautiful in a classic French way. Location could not be better, with easy walks to restaurants and the Château Royal d'Amboise. Finding the hotel the first drive in was a minor challenge, but once you figure out the streets it’s easy in and out. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. The continental breakfast was much better than average in quality and offerings. Staff were friendly and attentive, led by the very gracious and classy owner, Isabelle. I wish we could have stayed longer and relaxed, maybe gone for a swim, but we were running around like nuts trying to see everything.

Small scale manor house located in the quiet upscale area of town within walking distance to town center and Clos Luce, a must visit. We loved this hotel. Our room is Catherine de Medici, located on the ground floor w the view of street and parking lot, which we chose bc of its spacious size and traditional decor. With the stained glass windows obscuring the parked cars, the view wasn’t so bad and the road wasn’t busy. Comfortable bed and beddings with a lounge bed in the room. Large wardrobe and an iron. Nice big bathroom. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Parking inside the gate. Awesome breakfast w local products. There’s also a pool but it was closed due to cool weather. One drawback is that the Medici room is next to stairway, you can hear footsteps. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

We had a room on the top floor. Plenty of space and light. The location is ideal. The car park a blessing. We had a picnic on the lawn one evening when we'd had enough dining out. Picked up some bread & cheese & wine and just enjoyed being in a lovely setting. Alain was the perfect gentleman. So helpful with details, baggage, suggestions. This boutique hotel is special.

We spent a week in the hotel to visit the whole Loire area between Angers and Chambord. The rooms were very spacious (our group had 4), beds very comfortable, clean and modern bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is very varied and delicious, although continental. The parking is big enough and pool heated. Although downtown we were able to sleep with our windows open as there was no noise at all. The restaurants are at walking distance.

Don't know what we were most impressed with, the property, the location, or the staff. The hotel is a lovely remolded great house, located near the castle and close to many restaurants and cafes. Virtually everything was in walking distance. Every morning started off with a nice breakfast in the dining area. There is a pool and party area in the back, in the afternoon we enjoyed our wine and snacks before walking to town for dinner. Amboise is located so that most of the other places you visit in the area are an easy driving distance. As noted in many of the reviews the staff is very caring, friendly and fun. We made a great choice by staying here.
