Excellent location and very good place to stay. If your base is around Avallon or Vezelay then this is very strong candidate to stay outside of city limits but in great proximity to everything. its location can't be any better, good service and great restaurant. Breakfast is simple but very satisfying. Dinners are unmatched. Hiking from this place along Cousin... More

We stayed for two nights with friends (4 of us in total) at a great price and have nothing but positive comments about this hidden gem. The location is great (if a little shady in the bottom of a steep sided valley), the whole place is spotlessly clean and the staff (and in particular the "patron") are attentive and pleasant.... This hotel provides adequate accommodation in a pleasant wooded setting alongside a small river. The hotel and rooms are somewhat dated and appear to have bypased the renovation that most hotels of this class seem to have undergone over the last few years. There is plenty of open air parking. The wifi is adequate, but the tv channels kept breaking... More

We stayed for two nights in a lovely room overlooking the waterwheel. Everything was very clean and relaxing. Our room was larger than average with a sitting area which included a sofa and table and chairs. We had windows to the front and the back. The bathroom was large and comfortable. I have to be gluten free and I mentioned... More

we stayed here on our last stopover night on our way home. and again the Red Michelin guide is worthwhile to be consulted. this place is located along the board of a tiny river in the heart of a forest, via a nice 'green' road... we had a double room with a large terrace and were able to enjoy the... Well worth the winding drive to get to the hotel and restaurant complex. Moulin des Ruats is just outside a tiny village and situated on the banks of a very quaint river. Good quiet service, great wine, fantastic food. Took our 2 sons along, ages 10 and 11. They enjoyed, but the food is probably better suited to older foodies

Staying at this beautiful inn was one of the highlights of our trip to France in July of 2013. Originally a mill, the Moulin des Ruats is tucked away in a peaceful, woodsy area along a stream, its waterwheel still turning. The room we had was charming and large with a living area to which our breakfast was brought, a... More

This is the third year that we have stopped here en route to Paris from Provence. After a day on the autoroute, it offers a serene pause before entering the bustle of Paris. This quaint older hotel 's surroundings are a sensory delight: lush green everywhere, sounds of birdsong and stream. The senses are further heightened at dinner. The dining... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while in Burgundy. We were fortunate enough to have been able to stay in room 12, with the Cousin River and water wheel (moulin) right beside us. We found our room quite spacious, with an elegant old world charm. The furnishing fit the building...you shouldn't expect contemporary furnishing is such a... More

The kind of hotel you wanna find when cruising France: old charm with a very french flavor, located along a small country road and next to a nice little river. We booked a spacious superior room with terrace, the toilet is separate from the bathroom which is a good point, room also had a small hall with wardrobe, only remark:... More
