We chose this hotel principally for its location within the 'intra muros' part of St Malo. From this perspective, the hotel was a good choice. Right in the centre of the walled city, within walking distance of the beach, city walls and cathedral..Plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. This hotel is in a great location in the old walled town. The rooms are clean and well serviced but small. You are only a minute or two from all the attractions of the town. We went out for breakfast each day and ate well in a selection of local restaurants. The big disadvantage of this hotel is its lack...

The Hotel du Palais is perfectly situated in St. Malo. It is maybe a 2 minute walk from the ramparts (on the ocean side), and about the same to the cathedral and center of activity, but still enough away that it was quiet at night. We arrived very early, exhausted from a ferry crossing, and they had a room for us that had been unused the night before, so we were able to get in right away. I stayed at the Palais in December 2003 with my daughter. Although the hotel was undergoing redecoration (something endemic to St Malo hotels apprently) we were found a room at short notice. This was necessary as the hotel I had booked was being completely rebuilt! We received a warm welcome by the English speaking host and his family, the room...
