A beautiful hotel, that strikes an amazing visual balance between its original architecture and some modern features and facilities. The staff were really helpful, although although we were only passing through Saint Malo, it's definitely somewhere we'll be visiting again. The room we had was lovely, with views across the walls and out to seas. One small quirk the bathroom... More

Stayed in the small town of St. Malo at the Hotel Chateaubriand for 2 nights. Delightful little seaside town--mostly pedestrian only with shopping/restaurants/medieval walls, and close to Mont Saint-Michel. Had an upstairs room overlooking the square in front. Great views of the city/walls and nighttime activities. Room with view was E365/night. Loved being able to just walk out the door... More

I booked this hotel for our last night after a week at a rented cottage in Brittany, to be handy for the ferry the next morning. We were a group of 4 ladies holidaying to celebrate my 60th birthday year. It could not have been a better choice, everything was excellent - the rooms (two twin on 3rd floor with... More

We spent the weekend there and couldn't have picked a better hotel. Beware if you need a taxi from the ferry port it took us at least 40 minutes to get one. However it was worth the wait. I would recommend both the hotel and St Malo for a weekend break. The atmosphere was great and the food and wine... More

Whenever we travel from Portsmouth to St Malo we always stay at the Chateaubriand. We try to book room 259 which has a balcony overlooking the Square . The hotel itself is ideally situated, just inside the Walled Town, and so convenient for all the restaurants. The staff speak good English, and are always helpful. We have already booked for dates... Definitely what makes this hotel perfect is the location. We drove past the walls and made a right turn and there it was. Beautiful white structure next to the sea with a beautiful view of the walls and ramparts. The only problem is the parking, once you drop off your suitcases you need to go outside the walls and park... More

Only stayed for a night but really enjoyed it. the room was comfy but small, however great view over the walls and ramparts. loved the restaurent which was always busy but still good service and great food. its in a great position within this fascinating walled city and we wished we had spent more time there.

We stayed at this hotel in 2011 and loved our room with the sea views so we booked again for a Tuesday and Sunday night, either side of a few days in Guernsey. We checked in and were given a room with no sea views and even worse, no shower. This was NOT what we'd booked. I went down and... More

Nicely decorated and modern rooms, bathrooms, medium sized, windows that open to let the breeze in, peaceful after businesses close, great location. Breakfast was good and we would return to this hotel in the future.
