We took our grandson to St Malo at the end of July 2016 to practice his French. We chose Hotel Port Malo for its reasonable price and its intramural location. Arriving tired, the minute he saw his galleried bed our grandson was enchanted by the hotel and climbing four flights of stairs, though a challenge for us, was worth it....

The room was too small for 4 people. There was only 1 (ONE) electricity point working in the whole room for 4 people! WIFI is 3€ for 1 hour of usage (still charging for wifi at this century??) They have a bar/lounge at the ground floor, another bar opposite the hotel, it was noisy at night and it didn't stop...

Nothing fancy, but a great location within the city walls. Was clean and management was helpful. The bar downstairs was a bit loud, but it was the World Cup and France was playing. The stairs are a bit tight to get up and down,

It's in an absolutely perfect spot inside the old part of the town with a ring wall around. The road is not paved but cobble stone and very small. So park outside the wall and walk in its not far at all. The room are small as are the bathroom. But it's clean and nice! All you need for sleep....

The room is small, but clean. The best thing about the hotel is the location, very close to the city walls where you can admire the sea. No elevator in the hotel and stairs were extremely narrow, especially to carry a luggage. The bar across the road is very noisy.

We booked two nights here as part of a mini break. The hotel is in the old town and walking distance to everywhere you need to be. The rooms are small but what else do you need on holiday apart from bed and bathroom?! The stairs are steep so elderly or less mobile guests could struggle. There is an Irish...

This Hotel is in a traditional style - which gives it a charming appearance, and a feeling of cosiness. However, it also means that there is no lift and a spiral staircase to contend with. Breakfast was nice, if basic, at 6 euros per head. There is a micro-brewery on the premises, which adds to the attraction, but there is...

The location - Intra Muros - was perfect, very close to the city walls where you can admire the sea. The size of the room and the bathroom was good and everything was clean. The hotel is in a very old building with charm. Ask for a room at the first floor if you have a lot of luggage because...

We stayed outside the walls the first night - not worth it at all - a long dull way to walk through the harbour, especially at night. Then we found this little hotel (through the tourist office) which turned out to be clean, cheap, central though simple hotel. Very friendly and flexible staff. Strongly recommend it.
