We have just come back from a weekend at the Novotel Thalasso which we know well as we live in St Malo and have already used the Thalasso facility which as usual was very well organised and an overall pleasant experience which is what it should be of course! So thank you very much to the Thalasso staff who were all great! However on the hotel side of things there are several problems, the main one being the general feeling of being treated as just another customer, which in a 4 star hotel is totally unacceptable. The organisation was not up to scratch and and several of the staff appeared to be completely blasé The man on the desk who checked us in and the 'chucked' us out has very clearly chosen the wrong career, he openly lied to us after having misinformed us of check out time and was not in the slightest bit interested in apologising or attempting to find a solution. So unfortunately the relaxing weekend ended on a bit of a sour note because of one persons incompetence and unfriendliness. So in conclusion 10 out of 10 for the Thalasso side and a 'needs to do a lot more work' for the hotel side of things. We will not be recommending this hotel to people.…
We loved our stay in this hotel. The room, spa and hamman are very well maintained and clean. Staff at the reception and swimming pool are very nice. Maybe a few items could be better: - Slightly limited parking - We didn’t like to walk through the main reception in dressing gown to reach the spa. Better if there was a concealed access. -The late night reception staff didn’t open the gate when we rang at circa 2300 -No dedicated shower: it is shared with the bath
The Novotel Thalassa is a class act. The reception is like a film set and the rooms are excellent. A lot of money has been spent keeping it fresh and stylish. Our room was on the ground floor with French windows opening to a path to the sea. Objets d'art grace the extensive grounds. The spa is very well designed with a range of treatments. The pool offers a schedule of water exercises. Whilst English is spoken there are few compromises to the English language. Highly recommended.
The room was spacious and neat. Comfortable bed. That's the only good thing really. Oh and the view is nice. The service is terrible. The staff were very rude and if you asked questions, they made you feel like you were the idiot. The communication barrier is always a struggle but they could have been more clear about their hotel. The restaurant only serves the seafood buffet on Thursday nights and they will not cook you anything else from the menu. You either attend the buffet or you go elsewhere. I would not recommend anyone who isn’t from France stay there, it’s for the locals to indulge. They aren’t interested in anyone else
we stayed over night, booked last minute, the location, the sculptures, the sea view the grounds and the thalassa were amazing, we had drinks on the terrace but didnt eat here as walked into Dinard - literally a pleasant 20 minute walk away, will definitely come back, only draw back for us was the lift was broken, also when navigating the stair case it would be helpful if you put an additional sign indicating stairs to upper level not just room numbers other than that looking forward to returning.
