This is a cozy auberge which, although situated in downtown Carnac, is on a quiet back street where you feel in the middle of the French countryside. A little hard to find but worth the effort. We inadvertently booked a room with a shared WC but were able to upgrade on arrival so be careful to check room type ahead... More

We stayed at the Auberge for just one night and we have to say that we were disappointed with the room and service provided. Although we understood that room was to include en-suit facilities, there was a shower and basin behind some curtains (strange), but we had to share a toilet in an adjoining lobby with the room next door,... A very pretty, quirky and welcoming place to stay overnight. Easy to find and only a few minutes' walk from town centre. Good value and I would highly recommend it for a stopping off point on a journey.

200 years tradition, small rooms. traditional fine dining. friendly and helpful hosts. good value for your money. just walking distance to the 6000 years old megaliths/menhirs and dolmen or the busy/touristy town center and beaches.

Firstly, they change their check-in times to suit themselves. We booked through booking.com, which said check in was between 2pm and 7pm. We arrived at 2pm, only to find the hotel owner about to drive off. We said we had a booking, and she said check in was at 5pm. We showed her our reservation with the check in times,... More

This was not the nicest room that we had in France and it was by far the smallest with the closet actually in the bathroom. Old saggy bed that was barley over a full size bed and no room to walk around. That said the exterior of the building is charming with ivy and and stone and it beckoned us... More

We stayed in the family room (3 beds two rooms) at the Auberge for 89Euros/night in Sept 2013. We got the last room and enjoyed it so much that we stayed two nights! The regular double rooms are only 68 Euros, a great bargain! It's located just off the main square of Carnac, close to the menhirs and dolmen of... More

We stay just for one night. It is very central, very close to everything, shop, bike rental, menhir, tourist office. It is in a typical country house. The rooms are small but very clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is not included in the price and 8€ is a little bit too much for one croissant, one baguette, one muffin,... More

A charming auberge located centrally in Canac and was the best value on our trip around France. Rooms aren't big by modern standards but suffice but the best part of staying here is the restaurant on the ground floor which is surprisingly good. Friendly staff with english spoken.

We had a 2-night stay in Carnac at the Le Ratelier. We purchased the breakfast deal and was completely satisfied: Croissants, muffins, and the best cafe' I have every tasted. The owner, Mme. Pascal was ever present and very accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable and we had our own shower and wc. The price was great and well... More
