My wife and adult son and I stayed at the Hotel Ohartzia for two nights in August 2016. Our room had a large window that faced a spacious, lovely landscaped courtyard. After the bustle of the old town Saint Jean de Luz streets, walking into the cool lobby and to our room with this view was a pleasure. The room... More

A very delightful Basque style hotel with a chic decor, the Ohartzia is just a few meters from the beach and in the center of town. Recommend requesting a larger room, if you have much baggage. Ours had a double and a single bed, overlooked a pretty garden, very quiet. Rooms on the street could be noisy. Hotel staff very... More

A lovely room, queen bed, good pillows, comforter, heated towel rack and oh so clean- not a hint of cigarette smoke! A bit expensive; we paid 95 off season; its 115 in season; skipped breakfast at 24 for 2- The owners are a couple and their son- they all seem helpful but parking is up to you and it's quite... We stayed 3 nights at this hotel in Sept 2015 and would liked to have stayed for longer. We had a good sized room at the back of the building overlooking their beautiful garden (to which guests have access). The church bells were not a problem for me personally and we always sleep with the windows open. Our room was... More

We needed a room at the last minute during the beginning of the high season. The owners were very understanding. Our room was very comfortable, air conditioned so the church bells were never a problem. Completely renovated bathroom, large (by our standards). Very close (steps away) to the beach and promenade. Gorgeous large garden in back. There IS an elevator... More

I cannot recommend this hotel. Owners were nice enough, but the room was dirty and stunk so badly we had to leave the balcony door open all night. The room is average size, with a really tiny retrofitted bathroom. There is only street parking, which is nearly impossible in summer. Nearest parking garage is pretty far away. No elevator, so... Arrived in St Jean de Luz without a hotel booked and tried a few before this one had a single room available. The Madame of the hotel was welcoming and friendly, joking and pleasant, and offered her last room available. Conveniently positioned, this little hotel is just simple enough to make your stay comfortable. Great wifi although you need to... More

Just a block away from the beach, this is a flower-bedecked Basque house framed by cobalt-blue shutters. The 17 rooms are immaculate, well furnished and generous in size. There are no lifts ,so if you are up the top ,its a haul-your own suitcase job. Out back is a superb garden full of comfy deck chairs. Great location and quiet at night,with... More

Older charming two star hotel a block from the beach. The couple, who own it, was great and the breakfast a highlight. The garden would be gorgeous in good weather. The room walls are a bit thin and the bathroom is retrofitted into the bedroom which would be problematic if I was traveling with someone.

We had a good stay here for 4 nights. The room was large, clean and the bed comfortable. We liked the location very near the beach and close to great restaurants. It was cool and rainy during our stay so we couldn't take advantage of the lovely garden. We had to park quite a distance from the hotel which wasn't... More
