We stayed two nights in premium rooms with a terrace facing the ocean (coming at a premium). Informed we had to change room between the two nights at the time of booking (which was managed very efficiently) we experienced two rooms (at the same rate) and sadly had two very different experiences. The first one, located in the centre of the hotel, offered privacy, calm and stunning views. The second one felt like a massive downgrading. Located on the corner of the hotel, on the side of a road (noisy and more smelly) with a terrace totally overlooked from balconies of neighbouring buildings, this room was of a very different standard, also with chipped or cracked tiles in the bathroom. This really affected the quality of our stay and our impression of the hotel. Attention to details and high quality service as also expected from 5 star hotels. Being repeatedly referred to as Mr and Mrs as a gay male couple also made us feel uncomfortable. Mistake can happen but surely not more than once in a 2 day stay. In summary, the location is amazing and views from the hotel are great but some of the rooms are surely not worth the price (depending on how lucky or unlucky you are) and works on the building and service are needed to justify the current rating and the current pricing…
Look at the cover of the eagels album: "Hotel California" - its here and it is in France. Within the coast of the french "petite californie" coast, this hotel is really something special. Great service, great food, beautiful terasse. Why leave ? ..
We enjoyed coming back after 20 years Great location and dedicated service Avoid the peak time as they are understaffed and service time might be longer Dinner quality is very good with local fusion touch
Great location on beach, but thick glass windows make room quiet. Window coverings - not opaque - so morning sun will stream into room. Strong lavender scent in room which we could not clear out even with windows open - returned every time after we left room. Room had shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, robes, safe, central AC, shower-tub, free wifi. Great buffet breakfast - honey from honeycomb! Cooked to order dishes. Lots of close restaurants.
Great place to stay and relax .Amazing spa with pool and steam room. Room very small, but very cozy. Great Small touches, such as fresh orchids and candies, great toiletry(bvlgary) and very efficient service. Our room was not ready, for the time waiting 20 min we were offered complimentary cocktails in the restaurant. The atmosphere was very vital in this place. The hotel has amazing sandy beach and nice terrace .I had a feeling that I've been here 100 years ago and enjoyed every minute which I spent there.
