We had 2 rooms - a Superior Ocean and a Classic city view room, the latter around E200 per night less. The Superior ocean room was tiny, as was its bathroom. The toilet, for example was shoehorned in to a space that would have ashamed a budget airline. The room got very warm and the air-conditioning controls were not connected (as confirmed by reception). The only way to stop the room getting unbearably hot was to lower the window shutters - which rather defeats the object of paying E200 pn more for an ocean view..... The significantly cheaper city view room and its bathroom was around twice the size and much more comfortable. Linen etc in both rooms was of a nice quality and beds were comfortable. Spa seemed nice, but fully priced. The sea water pool was quite nice, but shallow and very warm. More aimed at someone going for a float after a sauna than playing in with kids. We didn't eat in the hotel and thought E32 for breakfast was a bit cheeky to say the least. Drinks on the patio overlooking the sea is nice. Location is great. Staff are all friendly and helpful.…
Beautiful hotel and location, friendly staff, family atmosphere. Stayed 2 weeks with beautiful sunsets and nice weather. Unlike other hotels in the mediteranean sea, nights are cool and well temperatured. Parking at the hotel available and easy. Great concierge service.
The room was big but it has a very strange distribution since the bed is next to the entrance door and the living room is at the end of the room. The view to the beach was very nice. The restaurant is nice but the menu is very poor, does not have choices.
Great service. Comfortable bed and awesome breakfast. We had a beautiful ocean view. The spa treatment i has was fantastic. I had a facial. The concierge made great dinner recommendations and our reservations. Would definitely stay there again
The reception, the facilities, the staff, the location, the accommodation and overall quality were absolutely superb. The only complaint about the room is that it is a tad small! The restaurant just misses the mark. We had oysters, which were excellent. We had tuna which was also excellent, but the hake was very poor. The portion of fish was miniscule and it was served with a single slice of aubergine which was pretty much raw; it was impossible to cut. We told the waiter who did absolutely nothing about it. No apology was received and no attempt to put things right. The cheese was OK but, to be fair, it would be difficult to mess that up! It may sound churlish to complain about an aubergine but it was the biggest item on the plate! it formed a high proportion of the food we were offered. Everything was also served at breakneck speed and we certainly felt as though 8.30pm was too late for these guys. I would suggest staying but try to find an alternative restaurant. We just didn´t have time and we were very tired after travelling from St Malo.…
Welcoming arrival. Staff friendly. Standard room was small and v hot. A/c didn’t appear to work well, had to sleep with window open. View just of street. Bathroom not completely clean, some of the grouting looked dirty. Spa was amazing. Restaurant overpriced and not good food. Not even tasty, very disappointing. The bill for two was around 200e, crazy overpriced food and wine - avoid.
Expensive but a warm welcome. Room small and not a great view. Staff very friendly. Restaurant a real let down. Very expensive. 1 - wine half the size compared to bar for the same price 2 - starter of tortellini just salty sauce. 3 - starter of maquereau, not tasty just some tasteless fish. 4 - main course volaille - Just fat and gristle. 5- main course turbot, vegetables not cut properly, the outside of leek skin and uncooked garlic. Fish was tasteless. Complained (after discount for goodwill) but really still paid 182 euros for the food - shocking and very overpriced. AVOID, just not worth it. Other places in the town are much better.
From the minute we arrived, we were impressed by the courteous and professional staff. This feeling was only enhanced as we stayed three nights and everyone we met was extremely helpful. The views overlooking the bay are dramatic, even on a rainy day. Watching the waves crash over the barriers was thrilling. Breakfast was more than one would expect, the honey was served right from the hive. Dinner was excellent, but more on that later. We traveled in early Oct. and could not have asked for more, except next trip will upgrade to the deluxe room. We did n0t use the spa, in that we wished to be out exploring. Next trip
We stayed two nights in premium rooms with a terrace facing the ocean (coming at a premium). Informed we had to change room between the two nights at the time of booking (which was managed very efficiently) we experienced two rooms (at the same rate) and sadly had two very different experiences. The first one, located in the centre of the hotel, offered privacy, calm and stunning views. The second one felt like a massive downgrading. Located on the corner of the hotel, on the side of a road (noisy and more smelly) with a terrace totally overlooked from balconies of neighbouring buildings, this room was of a very different standard, also with chipped or cracked tiles in the bathroom. This really affected the quality of our stay and our impression of the hotel. Attention to details and high quality service as also expected from 5 star hotels. Being repeatedly referred to as Mr and Mrs as a gay male couple also made us feel uncomfortable. Mistake can happen but surely not more than once in a 2 day stay. In summary, the location is amazing and views from the hotel are great but some of the rooms are surely not worth the price (depending on how lucky or unlucky you are) and works on the building and service are needed to justify the current rating and the current pricing…
Look at the cover of the eagels album: "Hotel California" - its here and it is in France. Within the coast of the french "petite californie" coast, this hotel is really something special. Great service, great food, beautiful terasse. Why leave ? ..
