Bergerac seems not to have any particularly good hotels, which is surprising for such a charming town. The Hotel de France is perfectly OK for a short, reasonably-priced stay. We chose a 'superior' room, which was actually pretty small although it did overlook the pool at the back. The bathroom was truly tiny and the separate loo positively claustrophobic! The...

The hotel did not honor our reservation. We could not find another hotel that night and were forced to sleep in our rental car. We arrived at 9:10 pm on a Friday evening after a 6 hour drive from Paris. Reception was closed and the hotel was locked. We called the hotel. They told us since we didn't arrive by...

We stayed for a week here and had an excellent stay, the situatiuon of hotel is close to the shops and town centre so choice of resteruants etc nearby. Opposite is Bar Cafe Riche is handy as the hotel has no bar area,, you can get drinks but no where to sit and socialise with people. Excellent staff and very...

Hotel is in a good location for the old town, which is an easy and flat 3 minute walk to the narrow streets and cafes, shops, sights and the river Dordogne. The hotel is overlooking Gambetta square and all rooms at the front have a good size balcony with hanging flower baskets and furniture. The balconies are nice to sit...

Stayed here for a business trip to the area. The location suited my needs perfectly. Wi-fi was pretty erratic, my laptop worked, byt my tablet didn't, so it was a bit frustrating. Breakfast was okay. The room was typically French and old-fashioned decor, and nothing special. Would stay here again, but it needs a bit of modernisation decor-wise. I parked...

We just needed a hotel for one night.....preferably with parking. We parked the car on the public car park just across the hotel, which was perfectly fine and inexpensive. The hotel is a bit dated.....but the room was perfectly ok. After saying hello to the receptionist....her next question was if I would want breakfast. Nothing I would think about before...

There are not that many hotels to chose from in Bergerac, but we think we did alright by staying here. It is well located over-looking Gambetta Square which hosts market days on a Wednesday and Saturday. Our front-facing room had a large bed and sufficient wardrobe space but didn’t leave too much standing space. Fortunately, the balcony allowed us somewhere...

Very disappointing stay at so-called 3* horel. ?New receptionist showed me to a pleasant room, then told me I could not have it as it was reserved! It wasn't, but the manager told me I had been given the alternative room as a Booking.com customer - ie a second-class citizen! Bathroom in need of refurbishment, tiny shower head, toilet cystern...

This hotel was selected as part of our cycling tour. It is the only hotel I've seen that is closed between 11-3 pm due to staff shortage. I am not sure if that's temporary or not. The hotel staff are absolutely charming and the location provides very easy access to all points in old town. Enjoy a leisurely evening stroll!...

I needed to stay overnight in Bergerac and chose this hotel which is a few minutes walk from the old part of the town. It was a good choice. A quiet room overlooking the rear courtyard and pool suited me well. Everything was clean , efficient and working. Parking is easy - right in front. I will stay there again.
