What a fantastic B&B. We spent a week here. Jean-Paul and Martine are great hosts. They informed us about the region, restaurants, culture and special places. The breakfast was a very pleasant moment to start each day.

When all is said and done, what makes a B & B the kind of place you want to go back to is the warmth and friendliness of the people who run it. It's these qualities that make Martine and Jean Paul such wonderful hosts. They love people and it shows! The rooms are lovely, decorated in the homey but... More

This august we spent 2 nights with this wonderful couple of people in their very nice house. They received us with great interest and gave us good information about the surroundings. The restaurant they advices was a about perfect. Breakfast together on the terras (or in the kitchen if the weather decided to go wrong) was not only very cosy... More

I cannot recommend La Gabarie highly enough. We traveled through France for over 2 weeks and had some good (and not-so-good) experiences at various hotels, but THIS was the one place we could truly say was a perfect experience. The building itself is beautiful (see pictures) and the room was charmingly decorated and extremely comfortable. The owners, Jean-Paul and Martine,... More

This beautiful B&B is located in an ancient house built in the 19th century, 8 km far from Bergerac and in the middle of a beautiful green area, covered with grass and forests: in autumn you can hear the sound of mating deers! The 3 rooms for the guests are absolutely French style for décor and ambience. The owners are... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We used to live in Brussels' suburbs and loved travelling. During one of our week-end escapades, we discovered the banks of the Dordogne river in the region of Perigord. We fell in love with a "longere" of the beginning of the 19th C., Magnificently located 5 miles from Bergerac. We decided to settle in. We would like to share with you our passion for this historical region which has an established reputation for gastronomy and delicious wines. In the spring of 2004, we transformed the house into a bed and breakfast with 3 rooms and a self-catering accommodation combining charm and comfort. The swimming pool next to the orchard is the best spot for relaxing. Martine Le Brun et Jean-Paul Fritschke ... more   less
