Little charm but practical, good bedding, attentive staff, low prices, varied breakfast with local products and especially very good coffee, excellent value for money, good location to discover this very beautiful region, we will come back to it if we come back one day. day

First the good points- good location, the rooftop bar & pool are really good. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The bad points- the decor is very dated, it must be 20 years since last refresh, probably more. Apparently ‘because of COVID’ the room was cleaned only every three days. Not so nice for sheets, towels etc. When we first arrived the room was dirty- hairs everywhere that didn’t belong to us, surfaces sticky. The bathroom was in a poor state - cracked tiles (room 203) poor repair. The rooftop restaurant has a good view but the food is pretty basic. The price is still the same - 300euros a night for ‘standard’ / basic in summer for what is youth hostel quality. Also - I guess because of COVID, the onyx resto is shut. We didn’t take a breakfast because it looked like a school canteen on a tray. The spa is also shut. Not very good. Be wary before you book.

Booked 2 rooms directly with the hotel, one premium, one standard. "Premium" room had partial sea view, but was somewhat old, with a bathroom badly maintained (amateur silicon, plaster and tile work around the bath). But the worse was the cleaning of the room (including bedsheet and towel changes), which was only done every 3 days (we were told this was due to Covid): for us (parents) this meant only once during a 6night stay; as for the children, their room was never cleaned (we had to borrow them a roll of toilet-paper for the last evening!). To add insult to injury, the hotel charges 30 euros a day for parking. None of these conditions were mentioned during the booking process. Bad customer practices. If you want your room done, best is to stay only one night !!!!

We have stayed here before and had a wonderful visit but sadly this time was very disappointing . Had to ask to be served in the bar after waiting ages. Very poor selection of bar food in sweaty glass display trolley. Staff not wearing masks properly at reception ( under nose) waiter taking them off when preparing our drinks so we left. Did not feel safe. Total contrast to Sercohotels in Spain who had clear signs, door security sealed to show they had been Covid cleaned etc . This needs to be managed from the top down.

Stayed one night here on our way to Spain. Storm Ciara had meant that our booking on the Portsmouth to Bilbao ferry was cancelled so we have to drive down through France, so this was a last minute booking. The welcome was warm, friendly and efficient and we were allocated a large 2nd floor room with sea views. The room was well equipped with a good bathroom, however the decor was very plain. In the bathroom, hot water was plentiful and the shower over the bath had good pressure. The wifi was strong and the bed comfortable if a little firm for our taste. However we felt the decor and carpets in the corridors were scuffed and let the hotel down. We ate an excellent dinner in the hotels restaurant - not cheap but good quality. Breakfast was exceptional in its offerings including excellent scrambled eggs. The secure underground parking was a boon to us as we had a heavily laden car — albeit that it cost €20! In all, this hotel exceeded expectations in terms of staff but disappointed in terms of interior decor. Although the extras were pricey, we would definitely stay again.
