We were extremely impressed by our stay at La Course and their approach to service. We loved the liberal amenities such as the pay-as-you-go wine dispenser and honest bar kitchen as well as the bespoke service with fewer rooms at the property. Lucie and Antoine were extremely attentive and personable making us feel like we were guests at their private home -- restaurant recommendations and reservations were seamless prepared for us during the entire stay. Also, because there were only 4 other rooms, it was a convivial and energetic atmosphere. Finally, I do want to comment on the decor -- we are extremely picky about interior design of hotels wherever were stay and La Course stacks among the best of Soho House properties with a keen eye for authentic antique pieces. I would say that while the room rates are not 'inexpensive' you are getting very good value and quality for your stay.

I was choosing this hotel for 1 night stay because of the beautiful interior and the gorgeous bath. But at the night, when I come back after the long day I was surprised - I couldn’t take a bath or a shower - in my room there was only a cold water and a tiny waterfall of almost cold water. In the morning, hostess ( she was really nice and trying to make my stay comfort during all stay, thank you!) were trying to do smth, but she wasn’t a plumber)). She proposed me to take a shower in the shared shower near hamam in the basement (yes, they have this beautiful option) It was completely disappointing. The hostess was nice but still - you pay more than 220 € for the room and couldn’t take a shower in YOUR ROOM. I was thinking that maybe the host could propose some discount or make smth else. But no, I just go without anything except the popular “DESOLE”. The day before I was asking for a bike, because they proposed it when I made a check-in. Unfortunately, they don’t have a key for the locker. So, DESOLE, but you couldn’t take it. No, there is nothing to do with it. The breakfast was OK, but rather poor. Croissant, fruit salad and coffee. 1 egg. So, the resume: if you love the beautiful interior more than comfort, it would be ok. If you prefer to stay without surprises, choose the normal hotel.

Dear Guest, First of all I would like to apologize for the way your problem has been handled. It doesn't reflect the way we treat our guest in La Course. As you said, you had unexpected issue with your shower. My colleague, as you noticed, tried to find the best way to find a solution for you. We should make a gesture of goodwill for this inconvenience and I would be more than happy to talk about it. You can write me : lucie@lacourse-bordeaux.fr Concerning the bike, we are indeed very sorry as it was bad luck that the guest just loose the key of the locker. We change it for a locker with code in order to avoid this situation in the future. Regarding the breakfast, I am sorry that you felt it poor. All our guests love our breakfast and poor is definitly not the word used to discribe it. We offer a full basket of viennoiserie, baguette, cereals bread, yogurt, fruit salad, handmade squizzed orange juice, cheese, ham, eggs (as much as you would like)... The hot drink could be refill as much as you need. We hope to have in the future the opportunity to welcome you again and make this another stay as perfect as it should be in La Course. Best regards Lucie Maître de Maison

All the rooms are really unique with different themes. The staff is very friendly and the breakfasts they make you are delightful. It was our first time staying there, but we'd definitely stay again the next time we're in Bordeaux... or at one of their other properties. They also have bikes that you can rent to explore the city. Seriously a memorable hotel!

Wonderful B&B in an historic building of Bordeaux. Awesome breakfast, the kitchen is open so you could serve yourself ( great choice from Mariage Freres tea). Studied in details. Nice and cozy rooms. The location is 10 minutes walk to the center. Exceptional service and care about the guests.
