Summary -I would stay here again. -Not a traditional hotel or B&B as I think it is run by the fantastic restaurant (La Tupina - check out my review) across the road (i.e., that is where you check in). Pros -Wonderful room in a renovated old building. I stayed in the "black room", which had incredibly high ceilings and lots... More

Revisited after 4 years and it was not a disappointment. Comfortable, clean and very spacious room. Only downside is no kettle in room or safe. But on the plus side it is ideally suited for visiting all the nooks and crannies in Bordeaux.

Amazing value considering we were able to park out car for €10 a night. This up market bed and breakfast has only five rooms and is owned by the people who run La Tupina restaurant which is across the road. You are less than a minute walk to the trams and the river front. Clean and comfortable. The Green Room... More

The hotel was exactly as described - With a traditional building, modern decor and a very comfortable bed! The room was cleaned to an exceptional level, with a fantastic supply of toiletries. No TV in the room but we weren't on holiday to watch TV. We ate at the restaurant opposite (Fabulous food) - also part of La Maison Fredon... More

Had it not been for the breakfast I woul have given a 5-rating. This fairly expensive B&B provides large and well decorated rooms. That it has a central location in Bordeaux also adds value, still it is quiet. The B&B has the same owner as the restaurant across the street. That restaurant is however closed Monday afternoon, when we arrived.... More

Great designs, nice toiletries, very comfortable bed (seriously fluffy pillows!), amazingly peaceful, quiet sleep, handy location, it ticked all the boxes. Only one warning, think twice about booking the green room if you are 6ft tall or more. This room has a low sloping ceiling and I could see where it could be hazardous for some. I'm 5ft, 3in so... Lovely, relaxed, small, stylish house in old part of Bordeaux. Elegant rooms. Opposite famous bistro La Tupina. Great area for the food market, quirky shops, bars and cafes of St Michel. Trendy and relaxed part of town.

We stayed in Chambre Noir (no numbers here - just colours) which is a delight to the eyes. Works of art and curiosities abound, most of which are for sale. The absence of a television is inspirational - how many beautifully decorated rooms have we stayed in that have been disfigured by the box on the wall that we never... More

My best experience in Bordeaux - I loved all the restaurants ( they have four of them on the same street) and would come back just to experience more of it. Bordeaux is an excellent base if you want to go to the various wine regions and come back at night and just have some of the best food! The... More

We spent one night at the maison Fredon. On the plus side, our room was wonderfully decorated, sober, contemporary and with a lot of style. It is right out of a high end decoration magazine. The bed and bedding were wonderful and we had an excellent night. The large shower was also perfect and all staff we have been in... More
