I booked a 4 night stay in Sep 2021 to travel in May 2022. I was able to book a very good deal through an intermediary as I had booked 9 months before my travel date. However, in January I received an e-mail from the intermediary to say that the Hotel Burdigala has cancelled my stay as they are completing renovation works during the time that I am staying. I received no direct correspondence from the Hotel Burdigala on this to discuss my options such as discussing alternative travel dates or offering me some kind of compensation to the change they made to my holiday plans. I appreciate that hotels will have refurbishment plans but these should be scheduled so far in advance that they are not impacting bookings or the hotel should be paying people compensation rather than just cancelling bookings with 4 months notice.…
We loved this hotel , good staf , nice room with a good bed , good value , we took the excellent breakfast , lot of choice , very good bread and pancakes with chocolate , very easy to find some restaurant close from this hotel , we will come back
Wonderful hotel, friendly, helpful staff, lovely rooms and decor: we had a perfect weekend here with our daughter and her partner. Located just a short walk from the old town with two really good restaurants (Racines and La Solena) very nearby. Would definitely stay here next time we come to Bordeaux
Fantastic hotel and convenient for Bordeaux city centre. We spent 6 nights here and it was quiet and calm. Covid 19 was well respected by all the staff and the buffet breakfast was very enjoyable every morning. A little disappointed that the hotel restaurant and were not open but we soon sound a few other options in the vicinity. Hôtel réception staff were welcoming and friendly.
Recently decorated. Both rooms and lobby looked fresh with interesting design. Unfortunately they forgot to renovate the lift. Room was comfortable. Easy walking distance to city center. Both the room and the breakfast was however overpriced, especially the breakfast.
Everything is of high quality Let's start with the staff, they are helpful, few administrative staff on arrival, housekeeping is impeccable, the sanitary barriers are respected by all the staff, we also liked the beauty of our room and the bathroom. bath, we slept very well, the breakfast was very good,
Hotel is just a few minutes flat walk to Place Gambetta from where the main shopping streets start. Rooms were very clean, modern and comfortable. Road layout around the hotel can make the hotel a bit tricky to find. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of cooked and continental style food. Hotel has underground parking to itself which is rare in Bordeaux - parking €15 a night, so good value.
Beautiful stylish decor, check in staff and restaurant staff are all very friendly, helpful and speak great English. Super soft comfortable bed, elegant bathroom, room is quiet. Great breakfast with good quality items. This is a perfect example of a city hotel that’s got it right! Only downside for us was the neighbourhood which is pretty dead in the evening, but it’s an easy 10 mins walk to the heart of the city so you’re not far from the action. We’d definitely come back.
I stayed here as part of a trip organised by the impeccable Planet Rail. It is a good hotel: clean, smart, comfortable. Strengths: Good-sized room Interesting choices at breakfast Nespresso machine Weaknesses: Slightly unattractive location Seemed rather expensive for what it was Seemed to be business-like rather than warm. Would I return? Yes, I think it was just a bit Covid-weary.
Myself and my wife stayed at this delightful hotel over the weekend from Friday through to Sunday on arrival we were greeted by the most upbeat and happy front desk team you could ever wish to meet, they were very attentive and gave me all the information I needed plus advice on the area, shops etc, we also got upgraded to a suite, from a Superior Room which was an unexpected pleasure. The Suite was totally immaculate and very tasteful it had two TVs, separate front room, twin sink bathroom, a beautiful large walk-in shower and a lovely coffee machine with plenty of pods for Long coffees, Espresso etc absolutely beautiful and I cannot fault it in any way at all, It felt like home from home, When we booked the room we also got free breakfast included in with the deal, there was lots of choice fresh fruit, cereal, eggs bacon, cakes, coffee everything you could possibly want. The hotel is also about 800 yards from a very nice shopping centre which has many different shops where you can buy anything you require, there is also a large supermarket in there if you fancy some bits to take back to your room, wine etc. This is a beautiful hotel, the staff are fantastic and it’s worth a stay and we are already looking to return and the end of the month. …
