Stayed here a couple of nights at the end of a recent cycling tour through France. The Mercure is a good hotel, with newly-styled, clean rooms. I don't think the aircon was working properly in my room (there was no obvious noise from the unit) - reception brought me a very powerful fan and the room temperature was OK. There... More

This hotel is a tough 15 minute walk - if pulling a heavy suitcase – over cobblestones from Gare St. Jean (not a great area to be walking at night) I should have taken a taxi or a tram had I known in advance there was a tram stop in front of the hotel! The Hotel is compact, it’s easy... More

This was the perfect choice of hotel for us on our two day stop-over before heading up to Paris. The train station, Gare Saint Jean was an easy 10 minute walk with our heavy luggage. Our room was comfortable, roomy, very well presented and very quite. We were told by others that the nearby tramway could be heard all night... More

Overall the hotel was great and the staff were very helpful would recommend the hotel. The room was very nice and looked like it had been recently refurbished. Also a nice area in the lobby for a drink and some breakfast. It is also within a good distance of the train station and the tram runs alongside the hotel (don't... More

We expected a really nice, four star experience when we arrived at this hotel. In the end we were a bit disappointed. The staff were really nice and polite, but the breakfast was really boring. Breakfast was the same everyday, with hardly much variety. Other four star hotels will provide plenty of bathroom soap and body cream etc, but not... More

I stayed here for one night and it was fine, but not great. The room was clean and comfortable enough, but don't expect too much - for example, in a "double for single occupancy" there was just one large towel available for use, and the shower gel and shampoo are from a hanging dispenser in the shower area. The air... More

With my TGV bing heavily delayed from CDG due to a fatality i found myself having to stay the night in Bordeaux. Most places were booked so i followed the tram line out of the station (to the right, towards the city) and came upon the Mercure after all other hotels were fully booked (slightly cheaper) and about 400m from... On arrival was advised that here was no Resturant facilities available in the evening for the whole weekend, this was not advised at time of booking. When allocated room also advised that there was not Air conditioning available at all. At this point advised reception that I would try to obtain alternative accommodation was advised as I had pre paid... More

The hotel is a very good one. It is located just near the Gare Saint-Jean so easily accessible on foot and at 10-minutes ride by tram from the downtown. Due to my Le Club status, I was upgraded to a "Privilege" room, so I have enjoyed a very comfortable room. Overall, very recommendable!

We are the "other" couple that traveled with "rosebud" above. Not much more to add to her review. Everything she said is a "ditto". The only other thing to add is there are gluten free options for breakfast. Not many hotels offer that option. Would def stay there again.
