This is a lovely hotel, close to the historic buildings and many restaurants of downtown Bordeaux, and a good launching-point for visiting the many chateaux (wineries) in the surrounding areas. Fair breakfast buffet.

Take the tram towards Cite du Vin, (buy a day ticket) and walk back along the river. The bus tour was also good for giving an insight into the history of Bordeaux - tickets on sale at the tourist office. Commentary was in excellent English. Brasserie Orleans, close to hotel offered good value menu, great service as well, spoke good English.
