It's incredible place and I'm sure that every city must have hotel like this one. Each room is unique and you're able to choose a room where you will stay. No "preferences" and "requests" - you choose exact rooms and know what you will pay for. Room decorations varies but I found them all very cool. Great contemporary artists will make your stay unforgettable. And you also know the price and it's flat, so you even can easily plan your stay in advance which is very useful. They also have some discounts if you'll be lucky enough. My arrival was very late by Lufthansa bus about midnight, but I was greeted by member of staff and check-in was fast and very convenient. Size of room was good, no claustrophobic feeling when you don't know how to open your suitcase and walk in the same time. Good equipment, everything working in bathroom, lots of power outlets. It's very close both to Central isle where everything happens, Petite France, Railway Station and also car rental offices and big parking, so I found this location ideal. No issues with cleaning, spacious elevator and very friendly and helpful staff. I didn't eat in a cafe, but food looks good too. I may recommend this property to anyone looking for place to stay in Strasbourg and will stay there again if I'll have a chance to visit Alsace once more.

This is not your usual hotel - it is not bland, it is not boring. Instead, it sneakily reveals a counter-culture that reminds of the 60's. Long hair and denim optional. Clean, quiet, warm with really helpful staff and great value!! Highly recommended. Book on line and you even get to choose your own room.

Stayed at this hotel for a few days before Christmas. As expected, the city was somewhat busy during this time (not overly so, though). Hotel staff were friendly and somewhat helpful, but not overly so. The whole hotel has a very welcoming (but slightly industrial) design to it, but it's extremely well executed. The check-in area (desk) is small but adjacent to a very large common/dining area which has a great feeling and vibe; it would be a great place to hang out and have a bite to eat or drink. Rooms are decently sized and purposefully decorated. The bathroom in my particular room was of a very good size too (I believe this particular room was handicap accessible as there was a roll-in shower). Furnishings in the room were minimal but well organized and useful. The beds were not the most comfortable I had slept on, though (a bit firm). My main issue with the hotel is it is EXCEPTIONALLY noisy inside of the room. There are lots of quiet streets in Strasbourg with limited vehicle access, but this hotel does not reside on one of them. It resides on a somewhat noisy cross section of streets which are surrounded by a few bars and clubs. You will hear people at all hours of the night stomping down the street. This is certainly not the hotel's fault, but if you are a light sleeper (such as myself) you might be better served at a less "central" hotel. I made my concern clear to the hotel while I was there and was told that the hotel was "completely sold out" (which I understand) but also that "it's a busy time of year and we are on a busy street". I am not sure what would have changed if they had not been sold out, as I am not sure what room they could have possibly offered me that would have been quieter. I was traveling with a friend and sharing a room for this particular part of my trip. I found the noise in the room so obnoxious that I found another hotel for myself for the second night of my stay so I could actually get some rest. It pains me to write this review in such a negative light as I really did enjoy the property itself, but the noise was something I was unable to deal with.

We were visiting Christmas markets all around Germany and decided to include a visit to Strasbourg. Staying close to the train station is always important to us and walking around is fine with us. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations upon our arrival. The hotel is a very unique and artsy property. The outside appearance is very cool and that theme carries on when you enter. It has a very unique 'lobby' when you enter and is a no-frills feel. But after check-in and going to our room (102) we could not have been more pleased. The room was a corner room. Great views of the street, not noisy at all. The room has the basics and the bathroom was fine. To move into the center of Strasbourg is a very pleasant 10-minute walk It was a nice relief not to be in the center of the city with all the tourists. We would definitely stay here again.

It takes a lot to get me to write a TripAdvisor review, but I'm happy to do one for Graffalgar. My wife and I recently stayed there over Christmas with our young 20's daughter. Graffalgar was an ideal solution for us: it's very well located, clean (very), reasonable (very very), and with helpful, knowledgeable staff. The room arrangement -- a double bed with two singles set behind a sort of barrier -- was quirky but really well suited to our needs. Being so close to the station was an added bonus since we made a number of day trips. If you are looking for a spot de luxe this is not the place, but for us it was just great.
