We booked this hotel for its old world charm and location in Petite Venise and were happy that we did. We really enjoyed the views from our room over the canal and it was comfortable and had plenty of room for our luggage as we got to the end of our trip, it had increased a bit! Everyone was friendly...

This is a magnificent place to not only stay but to dine there. Great location at the entrance to the old section of Colmar. Staff are terrific, very nice, very helpful. Call to make a reservation at their restaurant with a table overlooking the canal. If there are 4 to 6 people, get the private room that overlooks the canal....

Fantastic location with a helpful, friendly staff. Beautiful accommodations inside and out. The hotel is situated on a canal and makes for some lovely picture taking. Really ideal for our stay in Colmar. Also, they were decorating for Christmas, so it was even more beautiful.

We had a nice stay! The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The Romantik hotel did not have availability in the main building, but offered a reasonably priced studio in the (not so charming) annex next door. The room was nicely decorated. The bathroom was a bit old fashioned, but adequate. One suggestion for improvement is to ensure that the...

Perfect location for wandering around Colmar (a city well worth a visit). You feel like you are in a medieval castle - but with all the modern necessities. If you are travelling with a lot of luggage - take care as there are narrow staircases and plenty of stairs. Best to pack lightly. And if you can't manage stairs -...

I made my booking through the hotel's website since I was booking 3 months before arrival and the other booking sites did not have availability. I was glad I did! I booked a single room with breakfast and upon arrival (by train, walking through town to the hotel, 15 mins) I found my room not quite ready (arrived early) however...

The Hostellerie le Marechal was a wonderfully quaint and comfortable hotel in the charming town of Colmar. It sits right next to the canal so there's no noise from traffic. Since much of the town is "pedestrian only" shopping and restaurants are all hust a short walk away. Our room was much larger than what's typically found in European hotels...

This hotel has it all. My wife and I spent our 27th Wedding Anniversary here and we couldn't have chosen a better location. Our room was exquisite with a view of the canal. We stayed in the Wagner Suite. The food was amazing. Truly a gourmet experience. The staff were remarkable. And they bent over backwards to accommodate your every...

In October 2017 we booked in impromptuly as we had found Colmar so charming we wished to spend more time there. The staff at Marechal could not have been more welcoming nor more helpful. An ancient building like this is bound to have quirky corners, small lifts and small rooms. But it had everything we needed and was most comfortable....

Little Venice is charming area in Colmar. We had booked classic room but were upgraded to "Beethoven" room. Room was clean and big enough with minbar and jacuzzi. Customer service of everything was just perfect. We travelled by car and private garage was 400 m away but that was okey. It was really nice to walk around the centre such...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Tranquility of a village at the water’s edge, right in the centre of town. Old, half-timbered houses, balconies heaped with flowers, weeping willows which dip their boughs into the Lauch waters… this is the heart of Colmar, the old quarter which is so picturesque that it has been called “Little Venice”. Constructed in 1565 on the fortified walls which encircle the old town (11th century), the Hostellerie « Le Maréchal » welcomes you to the center of this enchanting spot. Everything about the place has charm, tranquility, elegance and courtesy. Why not try a four poster bed from the yesterdays ? The owners, Family BOMO, will personally ensure your comfort. The 30 Rooms and suites are nostalgic, furnished with good brocades and antiques, but with 21st century conveniences : TV LCD HD (international chanels), WIFI, Minibar, Phone, Individual Air Conditioning, WC, Safe, Hair Dryer, all equiped with bath (some with whirpool bathroom) and shower (some with massage shower). ... more   less
