The Tranquility of a village at the water’s edge, right in the centre of town. Old, half-timbered houses, balconies heaped with flowers, weeping willows which dip their boughs into the Lauch waters… this is the heart of Colmar, the old quarter which is so picturesque that it has been called “Little Venice”. Constructed in 1565 on the fortified walls which encircle the old town (11th century), the Hostellerie « Le Maréchal » welcomes you to the center of this enchanting spot. Everything about the place has charm, tranquility, elegance and courtesy. Why not try a four poster bed from the yesterdays ? The owners, Family BOMO, will personally ensure your comfort. The 30 Rooms and suites are nostalgic, furnished with good brocades and antiques, but with 21st century conveniences : TV LCD HD (international chanels), WIFI, Minibar, Phone, Individual Air Conditioning, WC, Safe, Hair Dryer, all equiped with bath (some with whirpool bathroom) and shower (some with massage shower).

Praises of this hotel we had read before proved to be right. The Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Colmar. Our room (double deluxe) was very nicely decorated. It faced the court (with parking lot), but although we are fairly sensitive to both view and noise, we did not regret it: The interior is decorated so nicely that a view of the river becomes, somehow, less important. Oh, and we had thought the jacuzzi bath was more a joke than usable, but it was great fun indeed. If you stay in this Hotel, make sure you book a double deluxe room (or above) — we think it makes your stay. Dinner at the Hotel Restaurant Service was helpful and friendly. The atmosphere and „mood“ of the place was wonderful. The presentation of the plates was nice, as expected for an upper class restaurant. There is, however, quite some potential in how the food tasted. We thought it was „OK“, but non of the plates lived up to the expectations that the wonderful staff, Sommelier, and even the food‘s presentation suggested.

A fantastic stay. The welcome was warm. The room was impeccable. Breakfast was superb. One can walk to any attraction in Colmar from this ideal location. The staff is generous with their time and eager to make one’s experience magical.

Would never ever recommend this hotel. The staff at the reception desk does is not helpful. The manager is very rude and unprofessional. We stayed at the hotel for one nights and we had to transferred to another hotel as the air-con did not work (and “that’s not our problem” we heard from the receptionist). We agreed that we won’t pay for the second night but surprisingly they have charged us 5 days later without our knowledge and authorisation. There is no WiFi at all at the property unless you are sitting at the reception. I would never stay there again and would not recommend to anyone to stay there as if anything goes wrong it is down to you to sort it out. There are better hotels to stay than this. It would be last resort for me.

Le Marechal is a lovely hotel in lovely Colmar. Hotel is very nice! The staff is ever so friendly and willing to help you with everything. The rooms are nice, clean and spacious. Our bathroom had a Bubble bath which was very nice! It was a bit hazardous getting in and out of the tub but worth the effort. Our breakfast was perfect! With everything you could want! The only small point of attention is our Nespressomachine on our room wasn't working.
