Winner of ‘Leading Hotel of the Year 2019’, The Edwardian Manchester brings redefined five-star luxury to the city’s beautiful Grade II*-listed Free Trade Hall. Following a recent multi-million-pound redesign, the hotel has been transformed into a lifestyle destination that introduces a new standard of service. Its 263 bedrooms are distinguished by ample space and floor-to-ceiling windows, whilst many of the stunning suites feature sweeping city views, entertaining areas and outdoor space. Nestled underneath the iconic colonnade is The Spa & Gym, a state-of-the-art wellness retreat in the heart of the city. Natural, tactile oak walls and a menu of mind-resetting ESPA treatments instil pure calm, alongside an expansive aquamarine pool with cabanas, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Remaining a stage for celebration and entertainment, Peter Street Kitchen captures the essence of the building’s former glory and atmosphere, winning the prestigious “Best Luxury Restaurant” award in 2019 for its exquisite selection of contemporary Japanese and Mexican small plates. In The Library curated by Assouline, a space for relaxed socialising sets the scene for afternoon tea, signature cocktails and a Parisian-inspired menu. Located in Manchester’s city centre, the hotel provides unparalleled access to Spinningfields business district and the shopping and nightlife of Deansgate.

Fantastic stay on Saturday 7th December - Room was a city view, just fabulous sky line of Manchester City - comfortable bed with the best pillows ever! Clearly busy as it is Christmas after all,but staff were pleasant, nothing too much trouble and service both where we had lunch in the Library and our evening meal in Peter Street Kitchen (which was fabulous) was wonderful. Peter Street kitchen had a real buzz vibe to it and the interesting sharing plates of Japanese and Mexican food was a real change. We used the pool and sauna and it was lovely and quiet at 3.30 pm when we were in. Breakfast on Sunday, though busy, had a good choice of items from fruit, to pastries, to cooked breakfast, all fresh and again staff were lovely. Well done, really like the refurb, it works well.

Great hotel, staff really friendly and welcoming. Room very well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast and room service very good selection and lovely food (once I found the room service menu). My only slight niggle is the base of the bed in my room was overly large and I caught my shin twice walking to the bathroom.

Had a great stay here. Was on an overnight due to business but wished it could have been longer. Was given a free upgrade to suite and the accommodation was excellent, and the hotel facilities second to none. Will be back as soon as I get the opportunity.

It’s so good to be back at the Edwardian! Fabulous hotel with exceptional standards of service and quality. They keep you updated right from the time you book with them including options to check in online before your arrival date, and many other little things. The staff at the hotel is exceptionally good irrespective of who you interact with. Check In was smooth and the room spacious and well appointed. It never hurts to have an upgrade and to land up with a bath tub and shower cubicle is always a luxury in most parts of the world. A nice fruit platter to welcome you back goes a long way ☺️ Housekeeping extremely efficient and they take care of every little detail during your stay. My favourite is the breakfast which is a sumptuous spread and you are spoilt for choice. The egg benedict was delicious as was the cheese selection. The price point can be a bit of a challenge besides which, the hotel is perfect given the location and amenities. While overall staff was great, Vittoria at the front desk was fantastic. She raised the bar for customer service to an exceptional level. Staying in hotels multiple times a month for the last few years, I can say with confidence that she is as good as they come. So if you plan to visit Manchester and can book in advance to get a good deal, don’t bother looking beyond the Edwardian.
