Actually, there are several reasons this place is cheap. Poky room, shared bathroom and toilet, single glazing, noisy junction, noisy club over the road, poor window blinds and constant street light, slightly tatty bedding... At 35 quid per night I didn't expect the Savoy, but what little sleep I did get was really poor and made my day very difficult.... More

Cheapish but not at all cheerful. £16 for two lunches. Poor food great beer. The pub is tatty and staff indifferent. Sadly Wetherspoons are soooo much better at this style of hospitality. For a northern quarter pub this pjace needs to try harder or it will fail.

Stayed one night. Room small( 8feet by 3 feet). Bathroom shared but that did not bother me except a lady guest laid siege to the toilet for 40 MINUTES at 6:30 am in the morning. Not a huge problem and moved to a different floor but no matter how hard I tried, there was no hot water for the shower.... More

I got very disappointed by the personnel and the policy of this Hotel. I have booked a room with the wrong date and after 15 minutes I called them to amend it. They could not change my book and they were not willing to refund me the fee because 'due to my booking they have lost clients for that room'.... More

We booked here for a night for the recent Stone Roses gigs as we basically just needed somewhere to throw our bags in and get our heads down at the end of the night. We were pleasantly surprised to find a full english breakfast was included in the price if up between 8.00am and 10.00am the following morning. The room... More

I stayed at the Crown and Anchor whilst visiting Manchester.Arriving by train the B&B was a leisurely 10 minute walk from Piccadilly Station. The B&B is Ideally situated near many shops and the City Centre is a few minutes walk away. I had a full english for breakfast which was very good. I could help myself to cereal, yoghurt, tea coffee and... More

Stayed there for the Acdc concert in June. Great Central location, 10 mins walk from Manchester picadilly station. Nice little pub with good food, all freshly cooked and didn't seem microwaved. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. OK it's not 5 star so dont expect it. It has a shared bathroom facilities but this was never a problem.... More

Room and shared bathroom very clean. Our room was a little small but had everything we needed. Nice breakfast cooked to order. friendly staff. Large outside seating area to back of pub was unexpected. Good location, just a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly. I would stay again.

As a solo female traveller who'd never been to Manchester before, I was more than overwhelmed by the great welcome and gracious reception I got from the staff. The owner, Debbie, showed such care and made sure I was okay on my first day and I had the pleasure of being 'Debbified'. If you are curious about what that refers... More

Popped in for a drink and bite to eat. Waitress showed us to a table and fetched us a menu etc. Cleaned table specially as we were eating. Partner went to bar to get a drink. I asked passing waitress a question about an item on menu to be told kitchen just closed. Disgusting.
