We stayed in Castlefield to be close to the Bridgewater Hall for graduation. The room was nice with a lovely decorated bathroom. There was a chair in the room which had no legs - very odd, and one of the 2 windows would not open. For staying one night the hotel was fine and I would probably stay again for... More

We stayed at the Castlefield Hotel for the first time whilst on a short family break away. Just a brisk 10 minute walk to the main shopping centre and a beautiful walk under the train bridges along the canal to some lovely bars. We found the hotel to be very pleasant, particularly the seating area around the bar/reception. The girls... More

Had a delicious beef Sunday roast and half chicken roast with roast vegetables, gravy really tasty . Large Yorkshire pudding and great roasties. Sticky toffee pudding was good but strawberry ice cream bit odd replacement for vanilla as non left. Friends had soup starter and chocolate brownies. All tasty ,hearty food . £10 for two courses very good value. The... More

I've never actually stayed in the hotel but as I stay on my boat during the summer months I am a frequent visitor. I have to say that this is the most efficiently run and relaxing place to have a drink in the evening that I've found anywhere in Manchester. With it being in the heart of Manchester obviously and... on entering the hotel I was pleased, the reception area is modern, spacious and pleasant. the staff are lovely and polite, once the lift opened on my floor (3rd) , I admit the smile dropped, the corridors are very dated, doors, walls carpets have all seen better days. the room was tired but ok,it had everything you would expect. there... We booked into the Castlefield Hotel for an overnight stay as we were attending an event in the Castlefield Bowl. It was a good choice, the Caslefield Bowl is next door, only 2 minutes walk away. Due to a mix up on times and heavy traffic we thought we were going to be late for the event. Our satnav took... More

You enter the hotel to nicely decorated reception, but the rooms are a different story, out dated decor, the shower if you can call it a shower, I call it a trickle was useless, we were charged £160 for a twin for one night breakfast not included, it would have worked out cheaper to get s taxi home, the rooms... Decent budget hotel with parking and close to the city centre. Reception staff are really friendly and helpful. There's a sports centre in the basement. Rooms are clean and spacious with triple glazing! Only bad point is the shower drain needs to be cleaned - I know its a disgusting job but it has to be done. Also the doors... More

My boyfriend and stayed here at the weekend, and I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
