Had a rather large night and the staff were incredibly helpful when I'd passed out and my husband got locked out of our room in his undies. They were also great about letting us check out later due to a deathly hangover. 10/10 would stay again.

from entering the stunning foyer, to the warm professional welcome at reception to the absolutely exceptional room (250) could not fault anything my expectation was exceeded second by second. Two beautiful fluffy robes ( take note Daffodil at Grasmere who couldn't even be bothered to provide robes for spa break) The hotel has been renovated sympathetically keeping original features and...

I visited The Principal in Dec 2016 for a birthday weekend away. Upon arrival, we walked into the breathtaking reception and were greeted by a welcoming receptionist who advised us on ideas for visiting the well known Christmas markets and told us our room has been upgraded and that the room was ready. The room was large and beautifully decorated,...

We stayed here for a football game at Old Trafford. I have stayed here a few times but when we stayed this time the new bar had been completed and looked great. Service great and the staff are always on hand to get your orders in. Rooms are always good, but not modern so if you are looking for a...

Having seen the press noise generated about the recent refit of what was The Palace I have to say I'm completely underwhelmed and would urge caution when paying good money to stay here. Undoubtedly the public areas are very grand and the building is special - but the rooms are lacking. Our room had stained carpet, a discoloured old bath...

Stayed here to watch Billy Elliot (highly recommended) across the road. Certainly can't complain of the hotels location. Prebooked parking at the NCP opposite so no problems travelling to and from this hotel. It's an interesting building being the old refuge insurance and the vast ceilings and ceramic tiling makes it almost like being in a giant underground station! (Or...

My boyfriend booked this hotel as a surprise for me and i was a bit dubious at first, but i have to say this hotel is exceptional. The level of professionalism of the staff and sheer class pf the hotel was outstanding. Our room was a superior double which has stairs leading up to a seperate bathroom and living area...

The place whiffs of class and sophistication; beautiful building, beautiful room, very tastefully renovated and well done. Good biscuits (and drumstick lollies!) However in the clock tower the lack of double glazing and proximity to the railway means it can be quite noisy, also there was no means to control the temperature, and some people may have found the room...

I stayed two nights for a work conference and everything was literally perfect. The staff, the food, organisation the rooms. A really comfy bed, beautifully decorated bedroom and communal areas. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be staying again. I believe our company chase conference is already booked again for 2018
