There is a slightly impersonal feel about the large empty foyer but staff were helpful and friendly. Room was very nice-large, clean and lovely comfy bed. Kettle area was a bit cramped and was only one bottle of water - doesn't cost that much to provide one each!! Enjoyed our stay although the wifi didn't work on either day which... More

Decided to experience the famous Midland Hotel Cream Tea in the Octagen Restaurant,we were not disappointed! The room is beautifully appointed with a huge lantern majestically hanging down from the center of the ceiling. The tables are arranged so that you don't feel encroached upon. When the food arrives all the various delicious sandwiches and cakes are described by your... More

The afternoon tea was lovely but the staff in particular made the occasion exceptional, they were really welcoming and friendly especially Michelle. It was my friends birthday celebration and Michelle brought her a plate with Happy Birthday and an extra little cake, great touch!

I stayed here for just one night due to a conference at the convention centre over the road. Best place to park is the Manchester Central about 100m away. It's a beautiful hotel and you get a lovely welcome on arrival and check out - the staff were quick, efficient and wanting to engage. Room was very clean and quite... More

We had booked a three night break in Manchester at the Midland Hotel as a little treat for ourselves - and we were not disappointed. It is a beautiful old hotel; the entrance hall is magnificent with a huge table of beautiful flowers in the centre. We had booked a Superior twin room and Room 445 was extremely spacious and... We were staying in a hotel close to the Midland and having viewed a documentary on the hotel earlier in the year thought we would treat ourselves to their World Famous Afternoon Tea. The quality of the hotel, the food, the service was very good and very befitting of the hotel's stature. My only concern was the £4.15 charge for... More

Very nice rooms, well appointed. Finally a hotel that puts a plug near the bed for a laptop. Nice bathrooms. Service good. Hot breakfast average but not the worst I've had. Breakfast selection otherwise seemed good. Great location.

I have stayed here on a number of occasions and this remains one of the hotels I enjoy staying in in Manchester. The rooms are large, and well equipped although the furnishing probably need updating.
