I stayed at Motel One Royal Exchange for three nights and enjoyed the incredible convenience of being at the centre of town. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, with a good shower. Do note however there is no toothpaste, shower caps, or the like with the only toiletries that come complementary being a 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash, and hand soap. (I think this is great from a zero waste standpoint, but just in case you were counting on it). There is a safe but it's not very big, so watch out for that. The room itself is great for the money you pay and it is not immediately apparent that Motel One is meant to be a budget establishment at all. The bar and lounge area were welcoming, even if one female member of staff was not very friendly when I checked in (the rest were excellent!)

Room a little small, but had everything needed. Certainly not a room with a view, as we overlooked a courtyard, but great shower, clean, lovely staff and a 2 minute walk from all the shopping, bars and restaurants you could wish for!

5 of us down for the weekend for s concert. Three adjoining rooms on the 7th floor. The rooms are spotless and ultra modern and the cleaning staff do a great job. The bar is nice and there was a good atmosphere. Check in and out was very slick. I would definitely come back and would recommend to anyone looking to stay.

Having not heard of the brand I was a bit sceptical when I saw the name but this is an excellent well located and priced, and very stylish hotel. As noted rooms are a bit smaller, but so is the price and if you arrive at Piccadilly you gould take the free T1 bus. Loved the decor and the attention to detail The curtain rods in my room overlapped to work nicely as blackout curtains and when I slept late housekeeping slid a nice note under the door whereas some places wake you up. Bathrooms are bright and extra large towels are nice. The flatscreen tv with the fish was lovely but the screen saver only worked 2 out of 5 days. At night it was warm and a little card on how to work the HVAC would have been useful. I liked that all 4 pillows were different in firmness as I found a favourite. Royal Exchange was a great location next to the Arndale shopping centre and with many restaurants and coffee shops at the door. Loved the trendy design and the colours, great having a room safe and kettle. I might have to go back to an Ibis though as they have washing machines or guest laundry. It really was the only thing missing.

Stayed for one night as was going to a concert at the arena. I arrived before check in time - about 30 mins early. I spoke to a female receptionist who offered to take my bag but advised to come back “between 5 and 6 to avoid queues” I did say I needed to get ready and would like to check in before that, which she said ok 3pm onwards. I didn’t find her the friendliest or her customer service skills great, however that was the only negative. When I checked in a while later with a male member of staff he was lovely, chatty and helpful. I really appreciated that he gave me a quiet room at the end of the corridor as I was staying there on my own. The room was lovely, clean, modern and well equipped. I had a great nights sleep, didn’t encounter any noise at all! Location was perfect for what I was after. I didn’t use the bar or have breakfast so can’t comment on those, but I really enjoyed my stay and hope I will have the need to stay there again!
