Another eagerly awaited B&B as part of a walking tour of the Cotswolds’ plum addresses. Again, but now expected, a hot day’s walking is followed by the task of carrying our own luggage to our room from the hotel’s reception, where it must have stood for five hours or more. A spacious, well stocked and comfortable room awaited us, and it was an enormous pleasure to partake of a refreshing gin & tonic in the quiet, secluded garden before dinner. It was a disappointment that "The Fig" restaurant wasn’t open, so we were ushered into "The Bistro" for our evening meal. I have to admit at being somewhat taken aback by the prices on the menu, so that settling for the chicken breast with ham hock rosti and tenderstem broccoli at £17 seemed quite a bargain. It was very good though, very enjoyable. (Other hotel guests must have had the foresight to look at the evening menu before their booking and visit, as there were far more people at breakfast than there had been for dinner).

My wife and I stayed at the hotel following the easing of restrictions. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was spot on. The hot tub suite was excellent, spotlessly clean with everything you needed. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning.

I visited the spa this week and I was very impressed. The staff were kind and helpful and the cleanliness was excellent. I had a very relaxing afternoon and intend to return soon. The bar was vibrant and the staff really good Not sure why there is some negative comments I imagine these are just from people that line to complain.

An excellent mid week 3 night stay at this lovely hotel. Our room was clean and luxurious. Breakfast was excellent and food in the restaurant was well prepared and tasty although selection was a little limited. The staff were professional and very helpful. The hotel has a fab garden which we enjoyed in the good weather. A real gem of a hotel. A few minor things which could be improved: We had a garden room (19) and immediately outside was a dirty ashtray throughout our stay (we are non smokers). Dirty dishes were left out in the garden for hours.

My partner and my daughter recently stayed in the hotel for two nights and simply put, it is beautiful. The gardens are stunning and the hotel is extremely tidy. The staff are so nice, friendly and helpful without getting in your face. The whole experience with the hotel is one of the best I’ve ever had and without a doubt would be 5 stars. However, the spa and the people there that I have dealt with are nothing short of a disgrace. I originally booked my Mrs in for a deep tissue massage as a treat for our anniversary. However, we recently found out that she is pregnant and had to change it to something she could have (a facial). After numerous unanswered phone calls to the spa and unreturned messages. I contacted the hotel to see if they could help get in touch with the spa to rearrange which they did very quickly and the spa (finally) got back to me with a snotty email saying that they don’t know where I’ve been leaving my messages etc etc etc. I requested the change citing the reason for the change as my partner was pregnant and they confirmed it had been changed. Sorted. No problem. Or so I thought. I was called the day before my partner’s treatment to confirm the deep tissue massage that day at 1pm. I said no it was rearranged to 10am Wednesday. To which I got the response, ‘oh did you’ and then she hung up. My partner went to the spa next day and filled out the forms and the lady came out and went ‘are you pregnant? If so, we can’t do this treatment’ then the manager proceeded to come out, condescend my partner and drive her to tears by the time I saw her 2 minutes later back at the hotel. Also, I have the emails to back any of this up should anyone care to contact me at any stage. It is gutting to write such a review after the amazing experience we had with the hotel and its staff however, as most of us would, I simply cannot let the above slide. Go to the hotel! Stay away from the spa at all costs.
